Default Harness Mounting

I've picked up a race harness and sorting out fitment.

A bracket from the US mounts on the rollbar and takes care of the shoulder straps however the lap strap is a challenge.........the floor mounts for the standard belts are concealed below and behind the seats and with the clip on belts there's no way to get them to clip in.

Schroth Racing Competition B23A Dog Bone End Fitting Kit
I've found these online:

but still think that they'll be too short. Any bright ideas to extend the mounts would be great

I don't know how handy you are but a longer version could be made out of 1/8" cold rolled steel....that's all the OEM seat belt mounting tangs are made of....just a suggestion.

Thanks Rob, yeah that's the direction I was thinking. Maybe stainless though or aluminium to make them easy to finish off. Do you know the equivalent thickness/strength of 1/8" steel in stainless or ally?

Just a side comment on race harnesses.
If you use your cobra ( or other car) in any CAMS supported events check with them regarding compliance in Australia. The US belts ( FIA approved) only have a two year use by date, in Australia local belts have usually a five year expiry. Gets expensive if you have to replace them even if they look brand new
The only exception with FIA belts after 2 years with CAMS is if your enter your car in non race events ( ie regularity, gymkhana etc) and your car IS road registered.
I have spent considerable time in scrutineering with this problem.

Thanks, the harness is dated this year, just using it for Club events ATM though.

I'll check out the kids harness extensions too.
