Is anyone heading to the London Cobra Show next week? My wife handed me plane tickets last night and told me to bugger off there. Not the best time workwise but will have to make the best of it  Cheers |
do you have a room at the LCS?

Have a great time. It's an impressive sight to see so many Cobras in the one spot!

Goeff,
Send the club an e-mail at info@ohiocobraclub.com and let them know you're coming from overseas for the show. Pete |

You will enjoy the event. The year I was at the London show their they had a short cruise from Columbus to London. It was a great event. The local fire department have a big ladder set up, nice view from way up. Also you may get some good photos if you smile nicely. The whole community are behind the event and even the local Police Chief gets out to watch the cars racing down the Main Street - quarter mile rides for the paying public. Cheers Bernie |
Geoff
Whoaa looks like another great event. Did the have the big fire ladder up? The first photo is the meeting point where assembly takes place for the cruise into London?.. The concrete barriers are new - at the start of the street drags..%/ It's an amazing event. I look forward to getting back there soon. It was a really welcoming group of people from the OCC. |

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...86_Medium_.JPG The cruise into London starts at the truck stop under police escort. The line of parked cars actually turns and runs along the side of the parked rigs. I think the numbers were 140 cars in attendance and 520 runs on the drag strip each generating $10 for cystic fibrosis which is the charity OCC supports. OCC are a well organised club with great people and the requisite number of friendly nutcases. They went out of their way to ensure I was involved and had a seat in a car to whatever was going on. I was offered the lead parade car but had already accepted a seat in Christopher Crum's immaculate Daytona Coupe. There were a number of runs to various destinations the day before. I did the 'Guns and Cobras' run to a local shooting range. I've shot in the States before but the equipment this range had on offer blew my previous experiences away. Each year they run a raffle the prize being.....a Cobra! |
Geoff
Sounds like you had a great time. The photos and views from up on the fire ladder were amazing when I went up a few years back...:MECOOL: I was so surprised to see the then Police Chief standing there encouraging owners to beat the previous time down the street. I think the OCC purchased a golf kart for him to drive around town from part of the raffle proceeds. The Smith boys from a Factory Five Racing were big supporters and Double Venom a local member with the Smiths were involved in early events. This year Hurricane Motorsport donated the Cobra raffle prize. I waiting for your call to let me know I had won it...:3DSMILE: |
Thanks for the pic Geoff. That white 427 at the Unique display with the white Halibrand wheels looks great!
|
Geoff,
Thanks for coming such a long way to share the weekend with us. My son and I had the good fortune to meet you on Sunday morning at the pancake catching contest, I mean pancake breakfast. Safe Travels, Scott & Zach |
