1968 titled AC Cobra for sale

Guys,

Maybe it's the heat or the sun? Or just too many Ouzos!

My 1968 legally titled AC is up for grabs! It's got a CSX 3--- vin.

In feb this year I had an engine fire and ended up hitting the freeway railing on the left.
What I thought a reasonably inexpensive insurance claim, turned out my Insurance company wrote it off and was nice enough to give me back the car!

I have been pondering for the past few months, but its time!

It was valued and insured @ 120k for over 20 years.
I have owned it for over 22 years and is and old school quality car that looks and drives like a Cobra!

The Pagoda is going to get a rotisserie full resto and I have no time .

It's an easy fix with endless possibilities.... ie Kirkham body?

If interested check out Used Cars - New Cars - Search New & Used Cars For Sale - carsales.com.au
50 k is the asking price.

Thanks,

Soul.

Can you expound on that statement? Please explain the VIN. Is this an Australian thing? ;)

That and can you post some pictures of the damage as your link and the subsequent search shows nothing relevant to this thread.

Please explain?

Vin = vehicle identification number!

The Link ? I'm in Europe at the moment and being an Aussie car sales site it won't load until morning Aus time.

Aussie dollar low.... Buy,buy ,buy!

And what CSX3000 series number does it have, feel free to PM me with the details if you prefer not to say it out in the open.

I'd be proud to put it out in the open. Any new owner is going to have to have it if for nothing more than due diligence.

 Maybe don't get too excited and jump to any conclusions, remember that old saying "when it sounds too good to be true........ ;)

Maybe registered in the days you could make up your own VIN rather than have one issued?

AC-460 06-27-2013 05:17 AM

If its been written off you'll never be able to register it

soulman 06-27-2013 06:32 AM

Not true!

That's not true!

It has not been written off! Dawes insurance paid me out in full without writing it off!
And then gave me back the car for free!
They even gave me a letter to confirm such!
Dawes underwriting , cannot recommend them enough!

Some guys unfortunately take everything so seriously! Ready to pounce !
It's a 68 registered glass car with a Cleveland and a CSX3000 number, it's not rocket science !

It's been in a Australia for over 25 years as such!

Just wanting to avoid all the smart ass comments about not being genuine, it's not rocket science!
How do you guys get away with 65 titles ?

For the record

Guys,

My mistake,

The has never been writing off,
Dawes insurance paid me out in full...bonus.
Returned the car to me for free....bonus
Gave me a letter for future registration compliance to state that it has never been written off....bonus.

There's no deception ,
Not all have an Ebay mentality !

Sometimes opportunities come knocking, and people take them up, while others ponder what might have been!

Didn't think I'd see the day that two Arntz Cobras were for sale in Australia at the same time. I only know of six in the country; yours and three blue RHD cars, plus Dad's and my red LHD cars.

You started the conversation off by claiming it has a CSX 3000 vin. Anyone with intelligence would read that to mean 1) an original, or 2) someone trying to pass off a replica as an original.

Which one of those options fits?
