Doesn't sound right. I have about an inch space between my rubber stoppers and the subframe. Is everything the same geometry as the jag? Are you sure nothing is binding? I assume you moved the suspension through its travel when the springs were out?

yep checked all thru full travel
rang pedders today & they said some front end in jags have to have specially made springs to suit so ive asked to price them for me
2o44 s coming out this weekend for cut downs

zedn is your front cross member bolted direct to the chassis or via the original rubber blocks

Uses the original jag mounts. Two big bushes on the front and two square rubber mounts at the back. All jag items. Just shortened in the middle.

well to day I'm happy happy
I got the new spring custom made & they fit
I found out that the front end is " e" type front end as the guy at dogingtons spring said that e type are 43mm shorter than xj front springs
so told them that's basicly in need 48mm lower so ray said he would make them 43mm shorter then lighten the spring
so now im 7 mm off where I wanted them but they should settle down to the right height now for the rear
