Lightbulb Windscreen glass supplier

After having my car on display at the Geelong speed trials I have a cracked windscreen.

My fault letting kids have photos in the car... They hang onto the frame getting out.

Who supplies and fits windscreen glass in Victoria..

you could try python in south melbourne, they have it on the website in the spare part section, but its the whole windscreen, but they maybe able to supply just glass or give you a contact.

They are meant to be.
I have heard of several people getting screens from O'briens.

Hi Bernie,

I've got one through O'Briens before.
It may be free depending on your insurer.

Yes. I just asked for a windscreen for an ac cobra. They didn't ask what frame or kit. Wouldn't have mattered as I made my windscreen frame from the glass.

I am insured with Shannon's and I called them and asked if I could use OBriens as they are listed as Shannon's suppliers.

Yes, no problem they gave me a quote/claim number and switched me to OBriens.

Thanks the O'Briens guys have one in Melbourne and will have it there in Geelong on Friday.

Thanks for lead and suggestion of OBriens.

Default Windscreen

Bernie O'Brian's near the bridge did mine when I broke it. insured with Shannons didn't cost me anything. Had to wait 1 day while they got one down from Sydney.
Cheers,
Bryan

Bernie

my screen broke without provocation in my shed overnight (as have others)

After advise here on the forum i requested that the new glass be fitted with a silicone type adhesive, not the extruded rubber profile that is forced into the frame with the glass. Apparently this eases any tight spots on the edges where cracking starts by temp changes or flexing......maybe not grommets pulling on it tho

Yes thanks guys.

They did use the silicon as the proofing and fitting.

The screen is on OBriens list of screens and my screen came down from Melbourne.

Fitted in the morning and I just signed off on the job for Shannons insurance.

Well done to both for making this process simple.

Not to mention how clear and clean a new screen is..
