Static Cling Decals

Whats everyones ideas on the use of Decals to the sides of the Cobra?

Beejay 02-07-2014 03:58 AM

I had my ski boat wrapped a while ago. Picked up 10 Hp and 5 mph.

I say do it.

VMS had the "66" on and I added the sponsor:

I thought they would be re-useable. I put on a number for racing and it came off in pieces. Widows Son's Cobra is a beauty! Wow!

I ordered a set from Finishline and they arrived the other day. Just deciding to put them on or not

Legless 02-07-2014 07:51 PM

Not much of a decision to make really, put them on, peel them off. They're good. I've had some on for ages and others I just put on for the day or two at the track to get in the spirit. I have lost one or two over the years though.

Wow, thats one serious looking Backdraft Black Mamba Widows Son, imagine this with 15" Bill Boards on black wheels...aaarrrr I've got the shudders

Rjw289 02-07-2014 08:05 PM

Is their any harm to the paint with leaving the decals on for an extended time period.

Calicoco 02-07-2014 08:28 PM

WS is that a wrap on your side pipes?

Bryan Wilson 02-07-2014 09:57 PM

Yes, this is the titanium wrap that requires no silicon spray treatment. Just wrap it. 50' split across 2 pipes. Saved my calves many times. Used exhaust paint on the clamps from homedepot and it works great.

I think that is the best looking black'd out cobra I've ever seen, well done Widows Son.

WardL 02-08-2014 09:26 AM

WS, Does the titanium exhaust wrap keep it cooler? Does it change the sound? My pipes are showing corrosion and I might want to wrap them just to improve their looks. Great idea!

blown871 02-08-2014 10:24 AM

AGREED on that black ride; BAD AZZSS....
(what rim/tire is that?)

Jaydee 02-08-2014 03:58 PM

I bought this wrap, but haven't got to fitting them. I was going to make a heat shield, but that looks a lot simpler. Is that one layer? And can you touch the pipe? Wow your Cobra is my new wallpaper.

[url="http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=1455&pictureid=11459"]Okay. Have put the decals on and looks okay. Might have to move them around abit.

Widows Son 02-09-2014 09:45 AM

Looks good itempany.

I appreciate the comments and Q&A so I'll start a new thread on pipe wraps out of courtesy to itempany. I'd prefer not to hijack his inquiry on decals.

boxhead 02-09-2014 09:54 PM
