if it was that easy lol it still has to be inspected when I gets here regardless of where it comes from ..your way I would have to pay stamp duty in qld and sa 2600 bucks stamp duty this end as it is ..im a patient man :-)

OK, so now we've established that this is another one that doesn't tick each of Dean's long list of requirements, who is going to end up with this car? Leigh, after your last post, are you also throwing in a kitchen sink?

Where are you Rebel1? Les, considering your record setting build time for the not yet completed LS powered RMC, you should be all over this!!!

No MAF shouldn't be a big deal. There's a precedent, the HSV GTS 300 came from the factory with no MAF (Speed density tune).

This is a super nice car for the price.

Cheers

That's a super nice offer...
May the "Car-ma" be returned to you in spades.

Sorry to see this car for sale

Hi Lee

This must be heart braking for you because I know how much you LOVE this Cobra.

This is usually the first Cobra I look for when I go the breakfast and I just get disappointed if I don't see it there.

I just LOVE the 8 stack and the attention to detail that you have put into this car.

The person who buys this car will never be disappointed and I just hope that it stays in the QLD Cobra Club.

This must be a sad day for you to put this car up for sale and I just hope that you get every last dollar that it is worth.

Cheers

Brad

Hey Brad,

Yeah, its a tough decision however some things in life you have to say goodbye to.

First it was saying goodbye to my swimwear model girlfriend at college, then saying goodbye to my thick flowing hair, then saying goodbye to my six pack abs and now to this.

Anyway, I will still come to the breakfasts and if you talk to me once its sold I know that it was me your interested in and not my car.

Listed this morning on carsales, should show sometime today.

[quote=750hp;1307418] after your last post, are you also throwing in a kitchen sink?QUOTE]

Kitchen sink will be available if requested. Please specify single bowl, 1.5 bowl, twin bowl and if mounting is to be above or undermount with a drainer returning to left or right.

Sink provided will be unmodified factory version, however modified twin pipe setups available as well as high flow option.

Short of this there is little else left to offer.

Dear Les,

I hope you get this letter. I know the winter solstice is upon us and you're probably still hibernating but on the off chance you've woken from your slumber early I was wondering if you knew that Leigh is selling his car. This one is for you! It drives. You could turn your venerable old RMC into a stately garden ornament. In fact, have you done so already? Someone said they saw your car the other day with a macadamia tree growing up through the engine bay. Is that right? Aussie Mike built a nice thick concrete floor to keep the vegetation out of his.

Anyway, check the details of Leigh's car in this thread. It's rumoured there's another interested party, but, well, you know how these stories start ... lots of smoke ... Did I tell you I was looking for a Lister Jaguar to register in Qld, but don't tell anyone. A few rego things to sort out first.

But back to Leigh's Harrison -- why not just buy it for yourself and keep a beautiful car in Queensland where it belongs? Be quick though -- it's just gone on CarSales.

Hope you are well, and best regards.

leroy17 06-27-2014 12:24 AM

I have received a number of queries with regards to further details which I possibly should have listed before.

This may assist and I will update as I can remember more.

* Fuel pump is a in tank Bosch 023.
* Imobiliser fitted and included two new key fobs (not some aging button that has been pressed a million times and hardly works).
* Front tyres are 245 45 17. Rear are 285 40 17.
* Exhaust currently set as live side, however a bolt in adapter is quickly fitted to have as rear exiting. Stainless shields are also available.
* Approx 60L tank.
* GM Motorsport Rip Shifter , shifter with custom forward extension and Tremec shift knob.

More later.

Vehicle sold.

Will not remain in QLD and will soon make the covered transport journey to VIC.

I am sure that the new owner will treat it will the same respect that I have. New owner commented on it was the best driving cobra he has ever driven, and that he has driven many to compare.

Here is a few stats which may be of interest. Since listing on car sales just over 10 days ago there were 6230 Searches for AC Cobra. My listing was clicked on 1207 times. From this I received 6 email inquiries 5 phone calls, plus an additional 2 calls yesterday afternoon after having a 4 hour test drive viewing session with the new owner on a beautiful sunny QLD day.

Most of these inquiries were from interstate and ready to book flights to inspect and one wanting to purchase outright unseen (had researched via this forum, however was to late).

Will be a sad day when it finally leaves on the transporter.

leroy17 07-07-2014 03:56 AM

Duplicated post for some reason.

750hp 07-07-2014 05:09 AM

Congratulations mate. The new owner has chosen well. Interesting stats relating to the sale. Shows that there's still a healthy market out there if you have a good car at a reasonable price.

guye 07-07-2014 05:40 AM

Congrats leroy. Hopefully the new owner is/will be in the Vic Cobra Club so we can enjoy the car too and keep you updated.

Sorry the Qlders will miss it :-(

This car will definitely be a worthy addition to the Vic club's ranks, and my congratulations to the astute owner who snapped up this beauty.

And you're right Guye -- all of us up here will miss the sight and sound of it rolling in to our monthly breakfasts or cruising up the M1.

Tenrocca 07-07-2014 10:21 PM

Congrats on the sale - a great buy and proves if you have a quality car at the right price it will sell in any market. Might be time for the new owner to say Gday?

Cheers

byroncobra 07-08-2014 04:14 AM

Nice work Lee, congrats (or commiserations) on the sale.

leroy17 07-14-2014 06:02 PM

Car left yesterday with CEVA logistics. Was not as easy saying goodby as I though that it may have been.

I take this opportunity to recomend CEVA to anyone who is looking for vehicle transport.

The company has been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Not only pleasent staff members but also very detailed with pre transport inspection and associated handover.

This is my second time using CEVA and for those who consider purchasing interstate and are seeking transportation, CEVA should be one to consider.

Congrats Leroy on the sale. Maybe time for a AP project

400TT 07-16-2014 09:00 AM

Congrats Leroy on the quick sale, not surprised in the least. Sad to see it go after you put so much time and love into it.

The new owner is one lucky son-of-a-gun.
