Finally new home (shed) for the Cobra

After nearly 10 years I am finally getting to build a new home for the Cobra only.
Here is the start of it.

Rossba looks massive! How big is it?
Your shed that is

That's going to dominate the landscape! Good to see the XY in there as well.

Rossba 07-27-2014 04:08 AM

LexLuther, its going to be 7.3m wide x 16m long x 4m high.

Nice one Rossba. Geelong council must be easy to deal with. I had to fight with Gold Coast Council to get a 12x12 and we're on 1.4 acres.

Thats fricken awesome, What kind of Cobra are you going to get, SPF, BDR, ERA? What is the reason you went with the one you picked out?

leroy17 07-27-2014 12:27 PM

I have shed build envy and that is a great size, I look forward to following this build.

I would say that the council would not have been too concerned as the needle pine out the front would provide a natural screen so the shed is hardly visible from the street.

Iceman, I have a DRB. I bought it as a unfinished project that was in my price range at the time.

They were fine but I had to get a planning permit first.
That took 6 weeks. Believe it or not and I designed the shed around their criteria.
The building permit took 1 week via a private bloke.

Leroy

That needle pine is now gone to make room for the driveway. lol

I used a private bloke as well, in the end I just drove around the area and took photos of other sheds...that appeared to sway the decision. Funny how trees go missing:cool: Look forward to seeing the end product.

Yea Geoff, we just looked on google earth at the council counter.
We are on 1350m2 so our coverage is still well under.
Most of our neighbours are on 3000m2 or more.

Lexluther 07-28-2014 02:34 AM

That is a lovely shed size I feel a little inadequate with my 7x7x2.7 garage...

On the subject of council I have been waiting 8 weeks so far  to get aprooval for a carport so The Cobra doesn't have to share with the Forester.

Rossba 07-28-2014 02:47 AM

Hope the carport is for the Forester and not the Cobra!

Lexluther 07-28-2014 02:59 AM

Yeah it's for the Forester and the wife's new small block ( 1.2 l ) Fiat POP

Have you got a plan for the interior or Just open spaces?

Rossba 07-28-2014 03:52 AM

Hope you can get the permit real soon.

I have a plan for the inside at this stage.
I am planning to build a mezzanine for parts and storage and park the Cobra underneath it so its pretty much sealed so I don't have to vacuum the seats when I want to drive it.
I will make a dirty area with lined walls so I can contain the mess and undecided on where I will put a hoist but have a idea.
The rest will be workshop/storage for my business.

I dream! Try 4.5 x 5 x 2.0! Sigh.

deano59 07-28-2014 06:39 AM

my shed is 16 mt long and 6 mt wide and I can hardly walk in there with 2 race cares and just so much stuff/junk every where time for a couple of skip bins and another clean out I think
