You missed the point Tom....
It was boring as batshiŁ until we got off the endless fuel watch...and started on cherries,hookers,prawns/ fruit tingles etc. But I'm sure we can draaaaaag it back to "fuel watch"... the daily fuel price will keep you riveted to the screen...lol Back to it boys ! Cheers, Warren |

But you obviously think its " Fuel Watch " And youre still reading it, just because its not your cup of tea thread, what point am i missing, what, your point that you find it boring, sorry about that but seems like quite a few other people have an interest in it and kept this thread going and all threads die eventually, but its funny your criticism has actually kept it going. Mate i find s**tloads of threads on here personally as interesting as watching my dog do its business, and i am sure lots of other members would say the same, but if every person on here complained about other peoples topics the cc forum would be a total bunfight. Maybe i should post up some photos of my mates street regestered 69 fastback mustang with a Ford 429 stroker, no injection, no turbos, no blowers none of that s**t, just a dirty old single carbie, dynoed at 1008 hp, you might find that more interesting, you might know the bloke that built it, hes the Aussie that wins the engine masters dyno comps in the states. Get over it mate and get back to ruling your Pace Kingdom. Now what was the price of fuel in Timbuktoo again.:D:D:LOL: |
Sorry mate....
I nodded off half way through all that.... I'll read it later.... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz Cheers |
This is excellent!
I will make sure to give you all fuel price updates from Amsterdam.... Russia and deep into the Arctic... |

Lets add some more fuel to the fire.... or discounts at the bowser.
Here's a little read that some may find interesting, Saudi prince saying $100 a barrel 'never' again. Saudi prince: $100-a-barrel oil 'never' again |

Now THAT is more interesting...... Good article.....just shows you that we are just along for the ride, and nothing WE do will change the price of fuel. Cheers, Warren. |
I read in the paper today that fuel is expected to drop to 85c/L if a barrel drops below $30.
https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/...-hit-85-cents/ Time to grab that big block I've been looking at! :D |

Ive spoken to my mate Mark and as i have photos of the car/engine he is not that keen for me to post them up on an open forum, and thats fair enough, but i will give you a few more details, the car is a 69 fastback mustang street car and he drag races it and has also raced it on the SA salt lakes. The engine is a 429 Boss Shotgun Hemi stroked to 598ci, this car came out with this engine option in 69. Jon Karsee built the engine, you must know him, he kicks the yanks butts and it runs one of his custom single plane intake manifolds topped with an 1150cfm dominator, but Mark has just had built a custom 1250 in the states to more suit his cam combo. I think you missed the point with this engine, a lot of guys up this way just like old school naturally aspirated engines that look pretty stock, no added bolt ons, i know i do, when you open the bonnet there is no extra hoses and pipes and belts and bling and crap everywhere, sure they could have built a bigger hp engine but that wasnt Marks brief, but i dont think they left much on the table by going down this route, any single carbied street car putting out north of 1000hp is pretty rare. Mark is not short of a buck and the engineering and driveline on this car is a work of art. Mark tells me he has just filled out the application limited to 100 entries to enter a 1000m time trial on an airfield to be held somewhere around the snowy mtns in november and the car with some gear changes will top 200mph. He likes his chances of maybe winning it. This car is Show and Go for a street car. Its not the fastest car in the world or the biggest HP engine but it is super tough. Apples for apples i think Mark just wanted to show what can be done old school, and to kick sand in a few young blokes faces. I think he achieved that. |
Sounds like a fun car. Jon Kaase has a great reputation. One correction, he's a yank and always has been, so we can't claim him as an Aussie.
If Mark isn't keen for a photo to be on the website, I won't bother asking for engine specs. A mate of mine has a 1400hp nat. aspirated 98 octane street engine (massive cubes and twin throttle bodies) so I'm not saying 1000+ isn't possible with a single carb. I'm always intrigued about how people reach that goal. There are better flowing Ford heads, but none have the cool factor of the Boss 429 heads and unique rocker covers. |
Yeah sorry Craig, i meant to correct that i was getting him confused with another aussie builder with a similer name and i spelt it wrong, but havent been able to connect to the forum untill now 10.30 pm, dont know whats going on there, i was going on memory from a few years ago and ah well it failed me, a sign of age i suppose.

Not trying to annoy Wazza with 'fuel watch',
But i saw something on the news tonight [ aus] about there is now finally going to be some sort of Govt inquiry about the major price difference in the retail fuel price compared to the oil barrell price, which is really why i started this thread, anyway i bet that never sees the light of day. And if that saudi prince is right that oil will never see $100 a barrell again, will that effect the car industry and the buying public with what they build and buy fuel efficent cars and the future development of electric cars, i wonder if there is a link there somehow. We all know how powerful and connected the oil and car companies are. Tomcat |
down to $1.90 US per gallon 87 oct cheap stuff.
they said next week we will give the gas for free:LOL: |
Fuel in Amsterdam is approx €1.50 per litre. That works out about $2.12 AU per litre.....
|
Yeah, but they have cheap hash cookies and rampant hookers Ash (so I'm told), so it balances out :-)
|
A comparison of our fuel prices with yours isn't really a good one, but in Northern California we are still above $3 a gallon while my cousin who lives in Arkansas told me theirs has dropped to $1.72 to $1.87 depending on where they get it. But it will come back up once the oil glut is gone. And ours will go back above the $4 per gallon mark.

$2.43 in Sonoma County Ron. Californian's pay the penalty for special formulations.
|
fuel in St Petersburg in Russia is currently about 35 rubles per litre or 70c Au
