Arctic Navigation Rallye

I know it's not Cobra related but enough people in the club have asked me how they can follow me so I thought I would put it on here.

For those that don't know, I will be competing in an Arctic Navigation Rallye from The Netherlands to the Arctic and back, 7,000 klm in 7 days. We will be going through Russia this time. I only know that because a special Visa is required for us to go through Russia and we had to get that before we left.

Information on the Rallye can be found here

Navigate North | Een ijskoud spektakel

There is a live map that shows where all the vehicles are at all times.

This is a link to our facebook page that we will be putting some updates on.

https://www.facebook.com/TeamVerstralershop?ref=hl

There is also an app for iPhone users, navNorth - is what you have to search for or you won't find it. It has live updates every 60 seconds

OH and if you like I can give you fuel price updates??????

Sounds Good, Towy.

You will have to wrap up warm if you are taking the Cobra :p

And remember that Vodka is an effective mouth wash for during those 700hr periods without showers available.

Just out of interest Towy, i would be interested in fuel prices in Russia and up where you are going.
Cheers Tomcat.

Currently in Finland at 62.60041,29.77503 just type that into your Google search box and it will show you where. 17:22 and it has been dark for hours, good news is we will have a hotel room tonight.... At some point in time.
Our first day was 32 hours and 2800klm... One car wasn't able to enter Russia so had to turn around & head the back way to Finland through Estonia... Other guys spent 5 hours at the Russian border.... We persuaded 'cranky biatch' to let us through... In an hour.

Gav 01-26-2015 03:11 PM

Does she have your phone number now Ash?

Towmaster 01-27-2015 01:28 PM

Update:
Just checked into a Hotel in Lapland for two nights.
Dog sledding and some ice rally driving tomorrow, should be fun.
Coordinates are 68.42140, 27.42652 just type it exactly like that into Google & u will see where I am.
One of the contestants caught the very edge of the snow o the side of the road & ended up on his roof in a creek... 4 month old ML350... Snow can bite!

Nice to see you in a nice safe XC90 Ash, it mustn't be a race....our's wouldn't pull the skin off custard:)

Testing spotlight covers in snow / icy conditions... Our European distributor owns the XC90, turbo diesel, goes alright. It's a Navigation Rallye so no speeding... Well nothing over 150 allowed ....

Ok the Rallye is all done and dusted and I'm currently in Whistler for a little snowboarding with my cousin who lives there (free accom).
We finished 5th in the Rallye which isn't too bad considering we were 16th after the first day.
