It's a birth.... Conception was the idea.

Thing is, it will be the cheapest baby you will ever have.

Congrats on the birth and I look forward to seeing your build update.

Congrats Aus, that's awesome news.

Funny, I know every inch of that chassis now :-) as I am sure you will too soon!

Engine, Trans and Diff turned up this week. Took a bit of manoeuvring to unload it from the trailer. Must spend some time in the shed tidying/cleaning up.

does your crate engine come with the clutch setup? What ECU are you going to use? If you get the GM kits, GM sell the molex connectors so you can set up the fuse box and ECU where ever you want it to be in the car.
Dean59 has your pace been delivered?

Auswallaby 05-10-2015 05:09 AM

Yes the ls3 clutch came with it. Thinking about an ls7 clutch upgrade. Prob standard e38 ecu.

ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, departed Thu morning with my middle Daughter (co driver) from home just outside yass for the Gold Coast. Bugger of a trip with delays caused by a crash just up ahead near Gosford. Forced to turn back and detour via old pacific hwy, lost about 90 mins. Stopped for lunch and when I checked the trailer (borrowed from a neighbour) the plug had fallen out and the pins were worn away dragging on the ground (bought two led flashers from big W). Roadworks from Pt MacQ through to the border kept the speed between 60-80 kph, very painful. Crossed the border, set the clock back one hour and ten years and pulled up to the motel two km from the factory for the night.

Rocked up at the Pace factory just before 7am on Friday and met Craig who showed me to where “Clark” and all the bits were stacked up. Spent the next three hours playing Tetris in the back of the Prado and strapping Clark to the trailer. Thanks to Craig and Wazza for the help and tiedown tips. Fitted most of it in, I got Wazza to fit the tyres so two wheels went on the front with the fuel tank and the other two on the back of the trailer, radiator went in the car. Started the long slow trip home, fortunately missed the rain. Stopped frequently (paranoid) to check the load and didn’t want to break the trip so pushed on through, arriving home at 0130. Unpacked and unloaded this morning, need to make more space in the shed.

deano59 10-31-2015 05:51 AM

well done bloke those guys pack them in tighter than a rubics cube lol

albanycobra 10-31-2015 07:22 AM

That is the standard "new dark blue" gelcoat. Will probably eventually paint it (metallic) dark blue with white stripes. All of the parts that were available fitted in the car or on the trailer. Still waiting on exhaust and a few other bits that will be sent separately.:JEKYLHYDE
