Good point Boxhead.

I think if you want a period correct replica there is not many choices globally that feature round tube chassis, authentic engine bays and 60's rear wheel offset.

In my opinion the general population has no idea what is under the surface, so an authentic body shape is the most important aspect in a Cobra replica.

The great thing about Cobras is that they are all cool in their own way.

It was great to see cars at a number of different build stages.

Dean, having looked all over your car on the hoist I must say that you have a pretty impressive undercarriage..!

There was so much to be impressed about. One small example was the parts trays containing bolts that are supplied with the kit. Not just a plastic bag full of bolts, there was a corresponding image and description attached to the tray for each set of bolts. That must make life so much easier for assembly.

ive always said the workman ship on these cars is second too none from the bodies to the welding thru to all the billet uprights . i cant wait till it arrives here .

That's correct....an accurate replica is more than just the body shape, but an accurate body is the essential starting point. What the 'tyre-kicker' can see on a walk-around is important.
AP's FIA body is impressively accurate according to their measurements and compared with their FIA reference data. Even then, it is being modified in a number of areas.
The interior - and most of this information is in the build thread - will be configured for RHD and will have a drop-centre dash. This is consistent with the interior layout of COB6008, a Cobra that was supplied ex-factory with FIA rear hips.
The chassis is a lightly modified AP427 chassis. The wheelbase is accurate ;) Nothing else in the chassis bears any resemblance to the original CSX2xxx cars :eek:
