Before this post receives it's due fate from the Moderators let me say I'm one of the those many people who are undecided on the whole question of divinity and my take is that the world would have been a much safer and more pleasant place without all the atrocities committed over the centuries and continuing to this day in the name of religion.

Yes Greg, everyone is entitled to an opinion and that is exactly what is happening. I don't think aussie mike is going on to hillsong forums and spruiking al things science, and if he did I'm sure he would be slammed by plenty of the faithful telling him how wrong he is and how this all loving god will send him to burn for eternity. I can never understand how the followers of an almighty and powerful god seem to get upset by the jokes or comments of a mortal.

It was pretty clear that this was a fake account set up for no reason other than to spam a forum. The account has already been banned by the moderators and the only other post that the account made was to the All Cobra Talk page (which was the same message and has now been removed). I like to think that Jamo left this here because it allows a light hearted response.

Just as Mike has evidence of the Jedi code, I hereby provide documented factual evidence that Spider Man is the real truth...

There we go, something we can all agree on. I am a rude asshole.

I don't have a problem with anyones personal faith or beliefs. I have my own faith and beliefe system to keep me going. I do have a problem with people who try and cram their religion and dogma down my throat. I also intensly dislike much of organized religion. Its been responsible or used as an excuse for more atrocites and horrors than than any other human endeavour since the dawn of man.

I'll happily be an asshole rather than support it.

The way I think about all of this....

If we were studying earth as some sort of microbe ( i.e. One of the 50 sextillion)...
and saw that there was life on that microbe....
and THEN....
saw that one of 4,000 + religions on that microbe , thought that they had all the answers to the creation of everything...and put it all down to THEIR God.....

We'd P#SS ourselves laughing at them.

But here on that microbe...there are people killing other people in the name of their God.

It does my head in .

I think it must get harder and harder for the people with all those beliefs to keep ignoring all that science has shown us in the last 50 years.

I'm way cool with any religion if it does all the "good" stuff...
you know...the common sense stuff...
like being kind and thoughtful to others...and be as tolerant as we can etc....but when it's the reason to destroy everyone who doesn't agree with THEIR beliefs....

I switched on this here computer thing as I always do and blow me down I think the end of the world has arrived. Why wasn't I told??

When I tell my wife I am going to church, she knows that is the euphemism I use when heading down to Dan Murphy's to stock up the outside fridge with alcohol.

Can't say I am a non-believer but I do follow the faith when it comes to offering wine, with or without bread.

As a science based lad, I struggle with the idea everything was just magically created in 6 days in the beginning. Anyone arguing against will be met with show me the proof!

And like Mike, I am now thankful for a non-see through front screen door and three loud dogs when I open the door, to the semi regular Sunday religious purveyors trying to convert me to something I have no interest in!

Be religious, if you wish, just don't try and cram your beliefs onto me!
