Default Spooks Sunny Coast Cars N Coffee

If anyone is interested I'm going to arrange a few "Cars n Coffee" mornings this year up here for any anyone keen to come along. Its just for anyone keen to get out in there car for a quick blat and talk shop. Doesn't need to be Cobra specific. I don't mind its just for likeminded people.

The plan will be either a Saturday or Sunday am from 6.30 - 8,30am or till whenever. We'll meet at a local coffee shop between Noosa and Maroochydore to talk cars.

There seems to be ALOT of cobras up here and I've never seen them at Club events etc so it'd be great to meet a few people and see people enjoying there cars. More the merrier.

I've made the time early as it means we have plenty of time to find a decent park and the coffee shops wont be overrun with "the lycra clad crew" by the time we get there. Also means we can all still do the Sunday family stuff with plenty of day left to do whatever.

So, I'm looking at Sunday the 28th of June to start. I'm open to any ideas for great places to meet but for those unsure the coffee shop called C@F at Coolum in Birtwill Street is pretty good place to start for our 1st. Great Merlo Coffee, good healthy food, nice vibe, lots of visual street parking and plenty of people around who'd be interested in our cars.

If people are keen let me know and I'll arrange for the café to be aware we're coming. PM or post here me if you want more info or if you think its worth making the effort to organise?

Just an idea. Spread the word. Thoughts....

We have the same here in Cairns. Second Sunday each month two of the car clubs have a Coffee and Cars at local shopping centre. Mainly Hot Rods and Customs with the occasional Cobra or two. Would be nice to see more Cobras though.

A few guys asked me about this on the weekend and there seems quite a few who want to come. I'll use the forum as the information source but if you want my mobile pm me. I'll post on here the night before to confirm the weather but failing that could be good.
I'll chat to the coffee shop this week and post a pic of the street and venue etc.

And yes, anyone can come in anything but unique car is preferred! All welcome. Gold coasters too. Would be awesome to see the wicked red sisters don/Craig too.

OK, so everything is generally sorted for Sunday the 28th of June. Café opens at 6.30am. See below for a few pics of what it looks like and for those worried about food, a copy of the breaky menu.
Seeing as though Mick (Schipps) is making the effort to come all the way down from Bundy I've decided that we'll do the CnC rain hail or shine. If its raining still come along in your streeter as I think it would be a great way to network about various aspects of our cars (where to buy, who can help yadda yadda)

Of course if its Sunny it'd be great to see the Brisbane and Goldy Crew keen for a run up the highway too. ALL WELCOME.

So it's on rain hail or shine. 2 or 20 I don't care. See you then.

Matt

The cafe owner said he'd love to see a cobra or 2 but if he got a couple he and the locals would be stoked. Anything unusual is a rare sight up here!

Mick your enthusiasm should be tapped and sold. I must also let Steve barb know. I'll send him a text tonite.

Spooky

Just a question for those coming to this. A few Gold Coast guys are keen to come for a drive to this and as a subsequence the start time and availability of parking later in the morning may be an issue for them.

I have an option if there's enough genuine interest to move it to a great little suburban cafe called The Velo Project in the back streets of mooloolaba. Revised time would be 7-9am. Local suburban street parking and great coffee and cafe.

I plan on doing a few of these this year so can always make this the venue for our 2nd CnC but chasing some feedback on preferences. I need to let the cafe know by tomozo so feedback / thoughts would be great.....

Just remember that it's designed to give those guys/gals with Sunday commitments to have an early outing and coffee fix and then home or whatever to enjoy the rest of the day. You can hang around as long as you like but it's only designed to be a quick meeting of the minds moreso than a 1/2 or full day affair.

I'd be keen to come along to a 7-9 a.m. morning...it's about 2.5 hours from my place , so I might be keener to come next time..

I still might get the urge to come to this one,and aim to get there at about 6-30 a.m...I'll see how keen Joanne is on the day.

I love the early morning/hardly any traffic idea...

Although....

( She who must be obeyed had already indicated her chances of getting up at 4-00 a.m. for an arrival to the coffee morning at 6-30 a.m. with her standard two word response...First one started with "F" and the second word was "That")

Cheers,
Warren

Mat,

If there are more cars and parking is an issue this time lets move but if C@f is sufficient this time then no sense changing. I guess after this first CnC you will have a better idea of numbers for next time.
