Matt, would it be ok to confirm the date? The 31st seems to be a Saturday. Am hoping to be in town for the next one. DC

spookypt 09-04-2015 02:39 PM

Thanks DC. Yep Thanks mate had it wrong. So to avoid a clash with the qccc breaky (Nov 1?) I've put it back to the weekend after.

spookypt 09-21-2015 12:01 AM

Just bumping this to keep it on the radar for anyone interested.

Jeff, sticking to the speed limit but not fluffing about I can do the Shell to Coolum in 1 hr and 10mins so a 6am start will land you in good and early I'd reckon. Are you planning on dragging any of those Marsh boys up?

I see often an Orange Cobra with stripes running around Coolum but I'm always going in the opposite direction. Anyone know who it is?

Be great to have your car parked out front Laner. That'd be a G Force, Pace, Harisson and DSC. Ash is thinking about his groin as usual so he's piking in his DRB! Bloody PIKER! Anyone else coming?

I found a great venue at Doonan on the weekend. Great vibe and great parking etc....BUT turns out it was vegen. Which is OK but the coffee was like dishwater and the food WAY overpriced. Bloody capitalist hippies. I'll keep looking but Ive got a great venue at Mooloolaba for the next one if this one has any interest.

Fingers crossed the weather is good. It was great on the weekend. Took the Daytona for a blat but turns out Motecs don't like flat batteries. (Bloody car was possessed!)

Spook

Laner 10-20-2015 03:19 AM

The Apollonian Hotel at Boreen Point might be good.
The Orange Cobra might belong to a guy called Kip, he owns Bissells paint n panel shop in Noosaville. He used to have an Orange auto one with white stripes. Not sure if he still has it or not?

Laner 10-20-2015 03:25 AM

Cafe Doonan would be good. Great coffee and breakfast, trouble is it's only 2 mins drive for me. Would be a good place to meet tho, then head off from there?

muzzza 10-20-2015 04:45 PM

Matt, I will be a starter ( say after 7:30 )..................can you just clarify time and location again ? Muz

Cobra01 10-21-2015 12:10 AM

Hi Matt

I will be meeting Jeff at the Shell Garage at Nudgee at around 5.50 AM

I am sure there will be others at the garage wanting to go for a cruise to the Sunny Coast weather permitting.

Cheers

Brad

Hey great we look like we might actually get a few along to this!

I'll make it 7am - 9am hey. The main reason for the early start was car parking (the local coles opens at 9am) and that plenty of people have family day on a Sunday so it was just to go for a blat, have a coffee/breaky fix/talk crap and then head home to family stuff.

Of course you can hang out as long as you like and its not too far to some pretty country and great driving roads if you felt inclined.

So TO CONFIRM (AS LONG AS THE WEATHER LOOKS GOOD)

7am - 9am Sunday November 8th

C@F cafe - 19 Birtwill street Coolum (Opposite Coles)
Lots of street parking and I'll have the Daytona on pole so you wont miss it.

For those coming up from Brisbane the Sunshine Motorway is the quickest. Turn off the motorway and head east into Coolum. Couple of left hand turns and you're there!

spookypt 10-22-2015 06:11 PM

I've sent Kip an email inviting him as well as Ian knippen (?). Both cars are yellow/orange but I'm pretty sure still not the one I see around.

Ive also invited Merv Hyde (porker Driver) who used to own a cobra as well as Russel Barwick who owns an 8+ litre yellow 429 Robnell.

We "may" end up with an interesting group of cars and owners well outside the regular misfits seen at breakfasts on the goldy! Time will tell.

spookypt 10-23-2015 02:34 AM

Spoke to Kip today and sadly he will be at Sema that weekend but he's super keen to meet up next time. Nice fella!

mate 10-26-2015 12:38 AM

Hi Matt

Brad has kindly said yes to my being his passenger for the day, so you can add me to the list for a coffee and chat :)
