Default Did you get any car related goodies for Christmas?

Who got some car related presents for Christmas?

Here's mine:

A local artist has become very popular for his sketches, cartoons and caricatures that regularly appear in our largest newspaper. My Dad sent him a photo or two and arranged for him to sketch my Contemporary (with me and my trademark cheesy grin as well..!), then added the Rangoon Red and a bit of background for a beautifully personalised present.

A deadset champion of a mate was over in the States and bought me back a Shelby shirt (which is wrinkled because I wore it straight away!)

As a gift to myself, I bought an engine crane. 2016 is going to be the year of the engine conversion, so it should come in handy.

Did anyone else have car related stuff under the tree?

Give it a couple of years and you'll be begging Santa to come and fill it in!

I received a Dewalt Cordless drill and impact driver. Might be able to use the impact driver for the wheel nuts, but not sure yet. Think it is set at 155nm.

I loved my pool in Perth, work on car, jump in pool ,have a
Beer....get back out and do some more work....we had a self dosing Chemigen pump. Plus a Guy came round once a month and sorted the pool chemical wise. I never had to touch it. Albany is to cold for a pool....

After the comedy with Craig and Rohan at a recent Cobra event, when Craig packed the kids tiny seats instead of adult seats, Santa got me a pair of these compact, lightweight seats that actually store under the boot floor in my cobra. My boot in pic for size comparison.

Just the thing when Sue and I are at a cobra event somewhere for the day...

I also had an early xmas present last month while in NZ. Wife bought me some fast laps in a Porsche GT3 at Highlands Race Track at Cromwell. Was a real buzz.

Great video Ian. During the first lap I had a horrible feeling that they had a 100mph speed limit, so it was a relief to see that it just a warmup lap. That looooooooong right hand sweeper is unreal.

Hi Craig
Yes the first lap was a warm up but he let loose on next two laps. The wall on the sweeping right hander certainly looks closer than it is at speed. Great day at track though. They are advertising V8 Supercar laps too, but weren't available when I was there. Cars whether porsche or the v8's seem to get to 240 kmh at most.....still fast enough though. Would love to take the cobra to the track and give it a work out!

I got an LED worklight/tripod. The light is 33 watts - 300 watt equivalent and has a quick release for mounting on the tripod, so comes off instantly for under car work.

PS: I'm not in Australia but Santa comes here too...

Santa brought a shiny new Deutsch Crimp tool so I can replace all of those crappy white connectors. Now I just need a **** load of connectors.
