Default Casual get-together - Sydney - Saturday 30th April

Cobra owner and member 'Cg514' will be coming up from rural Victoria to Sydney on Saturday 30th, April. I thought it might be an opportunity for folks to put some faces to the names on the forum. Cg514 also has a Clubman and is building a GT40 so weather permitting there might be a good variety of handbuilt cars..

The time is 1.00 pm and the location is Sutherland Shire.

PM me for the address.

Wish I could be there I would like to see your GTO! Are you planning on bringing it to Cobra nats this year?

Ben, it will not be at the nats. The project is in a kind of limbo at the moment. Funds and motivation are a bit low and by just focusing on items to rego standards the finish is suffering. I'm generally happy with how it has worked out technically but the standard of finish on many parts is depressing me a bit. That last 10% is just proving too much at this stage.

I'd just like to state the response to the gathering has been completely underwhelming. Can I get some indication of possible starters? Thanks.

Do not despair Peter. For your invite, Friday afternoon/night is actually the quietest time on this forum, Saturday isn't much better. I'm sure you will get some starters in the next day or two.

As far as your build goes, we've all been there! Sometimes "the whole thing" can be just to much. May I suggest focusing on one single thing, no matter the size, and get it done, then move on to the next thing. If you spend time thinking about the million things that need doing it can get quite depressing! Trust me, it's all worth it in the end - just one step at a time, get to it!

Count me in....hopefully more will respond over the next couple days. Agree it would be good to meet a few of the NSW crew who post on this forum.
Cheers,
James

Okay folks we've got some interesting cars coming along, including an aluminium bodied GT40, but so far only a lone Cobra.

Can you PM me if you think you'll be bringing your Cobra. Thanks

Yes Jim Cowden in NSW built a Roaring Forties Gt40 and then used the Fibreglass panels as a buck to fabricate an Alloy body.....

A Bob Britton built Lotus 23B has been added to the list but no Cobras!

Note; Weather forecast suggest things could be a bit iffy - I will post here at noon on Saturday to advise.

My thanks to those who came along. Those who got a ride in Jim's GT40 certainly enjoyed themselves by the look on their faces.

I really liked it as well but figured I might have been a bit bias. Since others seem to like it so much I've had a couple of posters made, one for myself and one as a 'thank you' to the photographer.

I considered giving it the title; "If you go down in the woods today..."
