Scott seeing you live where you do and seeing you might still be thinking about something outside the square, I still think a call to Wil at Island Custom Cars could be beneficial.

I have no connection to him. I know only what I have read on this forum, but he seems a knowledgeable guy, he's put some killer cars together, and he would, one assumes, know his way around the SA compliancing and registration processes. Practical local on the ground experience, such as we have up here with the Absolute Pace organisation is golden.

If on the other hand you choose a more traditional build path, then of course the Pace guys are definitely worth contacting, and there are one or two South Aussies who have done just that.

Good luck with whichever way you go.

I agree! Just like the guy putting the Ferrari engine in the Pace GT40. Kind of cool I agree, but with the power/reliability you can get out of Ford or GM(Yuck:LOL:) products at a much lesser cost why would you bother?

And then the time comes when you need replacement parts!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

Then again, I always think 'Old School'. I don't like turbos or blowers either! I know, I'm weird!:JEKYLHYDE

But like Modena said, if it floats your boat, go for it!!!!

Bill Harrah put a Ferrari engine into a Jeep Wagoneer....in fact he built two Jerraris ...but he could afford to float about any boat he wanted....

Hi Guys,
I haven't posted for a bit due to a massive work load, but I think my GT40 with a 5.0L Roush powered twin turbo Windsor sounds better than any ferrari engine any day of the week from idle up to 7800RPM and goes a lot harder too.. Just my two cents of input for what it's worth..
The Windsor engines are still compliant in S.A. as opposed to other states..

Personally my AC Cobra will be powered by an Audi V8, so horses for courses and the personal preference of engine choice should be made on your own accord, not that of others.
