Default Slowy's rear end upgrade, new rims and tiller

Finally facilitated the Jag rear end outboard disc upgrade care of Marty just prior to attending the recent Nationals. Car was finished and on the trailer at 7.30pm the night before the trip up to Goulburn - DoH.

First test was on the track and aside from needing to fix a driveshaft rub on the springs, the conversion certainly improved the car's braking and handling response and has since continued to perform very well.

A couple of photos of the enhancements below, with installation in progress and finished job

So Marty's good work also let me finally install my new Vintage rims I'd bought almost a year prior, this because I needed Marty to create the right offset for the new rear rims to match the body work. Marty nailed the rear wheel offset perfectly!

And so the new rims installed, and they are so easy to keep clean as well!

And finally I had Marty machine a spare steering wheel boss I had. This allowed me to install a lovely Nardi steering wheel I had bought off someone here on the forum, thanks whoever you are, with the following result.

This is a slightly smaller tiller which improves cabin accessibility but now needs me to amend the location of my speedo.

The 0 - 100kph range is now blocked by the smaller diameter steering wheel but as will appear in another thread, I am wanting to make a range of changes to the dash layout anyway!

Enjoy
Rob. Smith and Marlox like this.
