Default Wanted reverse sweep electronic speedo

Might as well test the waters here before I go buying.

With a down size in steering wheel I've partly obscured the important range on my clockwise rotation speedo.

Going reverse sweep will cure this.

An running an electronic 100 mm diameter cobra graphics refaced VDO gauge.

I want to retain the electronic format and gauge face style, as black face and white dials and markings.

So would anyone have a speedo that matches and which they are happy to sell?

I can only buy a "Smith" branded gauge that will achieve all this.

But then the remaining gauges are not Smith logo'd. I'd like to maintain the uniformity of look if possible.

Can anyone suggest who might be able to work with my other gauges to apply Smiths logos as a rework?

Look forward to the feedback.

Cheers

Steve

Speedhut can make this gauge but it will have their name on the bottom and if won't be a Smith's gauge if you need originality.

Steve.

it's fairly straightforward to make your own dial faces.

I changed my Jaguar (Smiths) to Veglia just using MS Word.

Speedhut deleted their name from all 7 gauges I bought from them. They charged me $10 per gauge for the deletion. They also added SMITHS to each gauge. I've forgotten the amount charged per gauge for that.

They won't take off the SpeedHut name any more. You may be able to add Smiths.

Thanks guys but not after more gauges other than a reverse wind speedo.

Will have to follow up with PeterAllan's suggestion, though I'm a bit wary of just cracking open all my gauges.

Cheers

I just bought a whole set of new gauges from them - all with the speedhut name on them. Even their website says they won't remove the speedhut name any more. Apparently they used to do that a lot. If you can get them to take it off, great!

They did build a reverse speedo for me. Kinda cool but it took me a while to be able to read it at a glance.

OP - call them and tell them what you want. All they can do is say no. If they do build it, it comes with a lifetime guarantee.

If you're going to shop for them you can find what it sounds like you are looking for from the CC vendor Vintage Wheels.

You could try Lionel Otto Instruments automotive and motor cycle instrument repairs and restoration in Brisbane, they seem to specialise in classic guages

Steve

Able Instruments in Brisbane did my VDO gauges and changed the bezel from black to chrome and also changed the needle colour from red to white. Nothing too fancy but they do repairs and rebuilds so might be able to help you out.

Alternatively, have you looked at a different range speedo? I have a 300km/h speedo and the *important* parts are in quite a different place to a 200km/h version.

Lastly, you could just rotate your gauge. Certainly would fit in with the race car theme.
