I have your cheque thanks Bernie.

Can you drop your engine mounts an inch or so and modify the sump.

Rebel1 06-29-2003 07:19 AM

I dont think I'll ever finish it!!

Couple of weekend back..early june..the cobra is up on chassis stands and I'm under it on a creeper. Was feeling a bit $hitty cuz I was sposed to go to wintersun at the coast but decided to work on the cobra.

This voice says..hey Reb, we had a great time, sorry you didnt make it, we won a trophy for the best outfit. ....I recognised the voice as that of a neighbour. This fella is a legal type, looks a little like Jamo but without the face fuzz.

He's telling me how his wife made up these special 60's rock and roll outfits for the occasion.

He's on the size of the car that my feet are protruding from so I thought I'd exit from under the car on the other side. As I slid from under the car, I looked up, and there is this fellas wife.

This fellas wife is a lil honey..5'2" maybe, petite, her curves compete with the cobra.

Now, I'm at ground level, and she is standing roughly over my head. Did she move??...NO!! :JEKYLHYDE.

And....this lady is wearing a 60's vintage vinyl mini skirt...pink and black top...pink bow in a pony tail .. did she move ? NO!!
%/ :JEKYLHYDE did she wanna move?..didnt seem like it.

And..the thong she had on was the same color as the bow in her hair...and I'm not referrin to the thongs ya put on ya feet. :)

Lucky the RMC has a steel floor or I would have ruined the bottom of a footbox.

If I dont answer the phone from now on..you'll find me under the cobra....I wont be doing much..just waiting..hoping.

Take care u lot

REPTYL 06-29-2003 09:53 AM

under the cobra....not doing much..just waiting..hoping.
I hope you have your diggi-cam with you this time....%/

Telling a story like that without piccies is just down right mean.

Maybe you could hook up some online streeming video for us.
You could mount the camera on your sidepipe.:D

Rebel1 06-29-2003 11:22 PM

Nuh..gonna keep it all to meself Ner ner.

Okies..I'm off under the cobra again :(

Take care

Even though I have been really pushing it I am not game - still - to enter for competition. I am ahead of time but still thinking I may just make it. Could have another 'Weekend at Bernie's" in Mt. Gambier to finish the car **)

I have just found that with the Victor Jnr. the float bowl top is level with the bonnet. So will need to go to a bigger scoop. Doug has a 65mm - bottom to centre top - but will need an extra 15mm approx.

This is with a recessed bottom on the filter base.

Approx 80mm. Any thoughts??

Must go cheers all:3DSMILE

Bernie

Bernie, I'm 90% sure that the 351W Vic Jnr p/n 2981 has a raised carb mounting flange. I wouldn't be surprised if you could mill the required 15mm off this surface.

Hi all,

Jason I cannot play with the sump as it is the sump that Mike Moore had on the motor when I picked it up. It has very big wings and is reasonably shallow already - when compared to a stock sump.

The idea of modifying the manifold is an option as there is plenty there. Will need to think about top end performance though??

:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Have played with a recesssed air cleaner base plate and thought about cutting it up and using an oval filter and making a new top.

May get this in the supplied Homebush scoop!!

The easy option is to run a small air cleaner that would fit in the scoop but feel that this would be restrictive to the air flow.

Had a few beers and put a Hornet Pro stock scoop on it - laughed and came home.**) **)

Will work it through next week

Cheers all

Bernie

Oh Yeah!!

Anne's wondering who I am in a chat session with. What's her name ?? :3DSMILE:

Must stop meeting like this. She wants to know what really went on at that ".. Weekend at Bernie's"?? :3DSMILE:

Told her I was thinking about the neighbour who called into the garage!! Whoa you should see my neighbour. What she used to hold up with her bra she now holds up with her belt!! I am out of there **) **)

Out of here as well **) **)

Someone must get back to the bookwork - end of the financial year. Can start spending in this new year now :3DSMILE:

See you all

Bernie

REPTYL 07-01-2003 07:22 AM

Operation '750hp'

Maybe you should head up north and sneak in to Craig's garage with a bucket of wax and a fibreglass kit.

Better make that 2 fibreglass kits.

or maybe 10...

Oh stuff it!!! just steal his bonnet.

Don't forget your gumboots:D

750hp 07-01-2003 07:30 AM

Can you believe that someone else has a bonnet the same shape as mine. I got an email from someone about 200km from me saying that they saw my car driving down the road. Surely no two people could ever dream up such a shape

Bernie - beers and a Hornet scoop? Don't waste the Hornet scoop - just cut the front out of the beer carton and silicone it in place.... Make sure it's the real thing though - XXXX beer, not that Coopers that we were drinking when we were down at the Adelaide LeMans race **)

BMK 07-01-2003 07:53 AM

Jason,

You are obviously at work?? Or Judy will be wondering who told you about www.clubcobra.com. :3DSMILE:

I sometimes forget to put the full :3DSMILE into the computer and end up with the :3DSMILE and not the smiling face.

Who is the dill?? I am lazy and wont go back and edit it.

Have been to the travel agent today and booked/changed the trip plans to the 'Run N Gun'. Was originally going to stay in L.A for a few days and then drive across Nevada, Utah, Colorado into Kansas and then Missouri for the 'Run N Gun' - 3200 k's!!

Originally after the Run N Gun I was going to fly straight back from Chicago.

I must go to Chicago as this is the company headquarters. My account told me to do this. :3DSMILE:

Changed all this. Will now do L.A for an extra few days and spend some time in some shops there. Fly to Chicago and do the states around there. Illinois, Indiana, kentucky etc.

Will try and spend a few days in each and catch up with a few people there. And then fly back after the Run N Gun.

This saves about three to fours days of wasted driving.

I have organised tours of a few factories and a visit to Shelby American etc. So looking forward to this whern I get back to L.A after the 'Run N Gun'. As this is in Las Vegas I will go to the NHRA Dag meet in Las Vegas.

Had a guy email me the other night and I sent him some of my company 'T' shirts for his kids and a whole lot of information on Australia for the kids project or something. He is in California and he sent back some great maps with some locations to visit etc. marked. Also a Shelby American 'T' shirt. Its great.

Like a bloody kid counting down to Christmas :3DSMILE:

I must really get back to work :3DSMILE:

Cheers

Craig,

Don't know about Coopers but I sure enjoyed that Le Mans race. Its a pity that Adelaide could not have the event again. It was great watching Lyndon in the blue Cobra and George and Christian in the silver Cobras racing.

As much as I liked the Panoz cars and the Audis I really enjoyed listening to the Cobras in the main straight.

Now I know what Bondurant, Miles and the other drivers found exciting about the big blocks racing past in the night.

I solved the paint colour in this forum and I am waiting for someone to come in and say..." hey I have just the scoop for you'

:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Or perhaps, I will just glass it myself and shut up about it.

Cheers

Bernie

JOHNNYCOBRA 07-01-2003 09:14 AM

My 2 cents, I built my 375 stroker based on the standard 9.50
block. minor clearancing on the block, hypereutectic pistons, with stock length rods, compression is about 10:7-1, the real problems were getting the cleavland heads reworked to use on the windsor block. My engine dyno tested at 455HP and 445ft torque
all in at 6400rpm. I believe the newer aluminum heads can produce the same or better numbers and cheaper.

ac andy 07-04-2003 05:57 AM

Jason, do you know if there is any accomodation left at the Nationals?

Andy.

REPTYL 07-06-2003 03:19 PM

Accomadation for AC Andy

You may have got lucky Andy. Looks like Garrent double booked with me and the CTC boys in another motel. If he drops his Golbourne Central booking, it's yours.

justbetter 07-06-2003 05:18 PM

Andy, Im confirmed with the CTC guys so if you want the booking with Jason your most welcome.

Thanks Jason.

BMK 07-08-2003 05:35 AM

Jason,

Had a long chat with Mike Moore tonight and he tells me he is coming up to Wakefield Park. He plans on bringing up the new Cobra and the X7Roadster.

Looks like there will be a little bit of competition.

Mike is chasing a room so if one becomes available you may think of him.

Cheers:3DSMILE:

Bernie

750hp 07-08-2003 05:52 AM

If Mike Moore is going to Wakefield PK, the Goulburn Hotel had better start ordering in some more supplies. :3DSMILE: That man sure knows how to party, or at least he did when I saw him at West Wyalong. I bet he hasn't changed a bit!

REPTYL 07-08-2003 03:28 PM

I spoke to Mike for a while last night as well.
I think we can slot him in to the South Aussie's motel.
No room left at the Central.

They better book two rooms. One for Mike and one for all the car-parts and tools.
(they best stock up the grog supplies also):)

ac andy 07-09-2003 05:47 AM

Jason, if the room is still there, call me. 0412 589 269. i will get you a cheque straight away.

Andy.

750hp 07-09-2003 06:27 AM

Ahh, yes. The through the night Cobra rebuild in the living room of the motel was a sight to behold. I can't even remember what he was working on.... was it the custom 9" IRS centre section seals? Whatever it was, the room looked pretty ordinary at about 7 o'clock that morning. What would the cleaning lady have thought?!?!
