Default How I want my car to look when finished

Hi there everyone.

Here is a link to how I want my car to look when finished.
I was telling Aussie Mike and said I would show him when I got home, so here it is.

Great I'm disappointed now

Thought that you would copy me after seeing the sensational job I did on my body. I did offer to fly in to paint the flat black stripes for you.

Only took 5 minutes and a few stubbies of beer.

Look forward to seeing the pictures you took when you were over.

Cheers

Bernie

Hi David,

That colour scheme looks very good in the flesh. Good choice.

Cheers

David, I'm also a big fan of yellow. While I'd suggest you paint it "Brisbane Lions maroon with gold stripes", I feel I might be on my own here !!! Porsche have made a couple of fantastic yellow in the last few years.

Bernie - I like your matte black stripes ! Didn't you end up making some bigger mufflers since the photos? The ones on there in your photos don't look like they'd silence the noise much!

Why is it that 9 times out of 10 you see another Cobra you think YES?

Must be hooked!

One small point, scoop too small.

This is a scoop:

Craig

The photos taken under the trees have the recent mufflers on.

They are a lot quiter but I need to pull them to bits to get them coated. Will then replace the steel wool with rolls and stainless as Mike suggested.

Mike has used a stainless wash pad (in a trial) that is donut shaped and just pushes on, in what ever number is needed.

Will be screwing back together then, as I cannot weld after HPC coated.

My good buddy Aussie Mike put the Cobra photos on for me. I promised I would not put any more Cobras on until painted.

The Mustang convertible behind my car is now nearly finished. Two convertables there now. Both have been detailed to better than new underneath and over.

Cheers all

Speed yellow - yeeeahh!!!!

I just picked up a copy of Kit Car and ''Factory Five Racing'' have an add on the back cover with a very nice yellow car. Similiar to the Cobra on the Finishline add.

Boxhead

You have possible seen these Cobras. Its been in a few of the Factory Five Racing adds.

Bernie,

I can't take credit for the stainless pot scrubber baffels idea. That one belongs to Scott (Ozvenom).

Cheers

Hey Mike

I'm shattered. I been telling everyone how smart you are.

A Queenslander thought of this idea.

Anyway - I'm going to cut the exhaust up and re do, with a HPC coating put on. Then screw back together similiar to the way we discussed.

I have phonned Di Fillipo Exhaust and will try and catch them when over in Melbourne later this week.

Thursday + Friday. at McDonald Bros. Racing finishing the aluminium, they are closed but I'm out the back with Russell.

Will try and catch up Thursday when at club meeting.

Cheers

Hey there Bernie, I have seen the Factory Five adds and thought the car looked god.

I am still trying to upload these pics of yours and Garretts car but just not haveing any luck.

My wife Ronda has told me I can buy a compressor for my shed as my birthday present, what size cfm do you guys suggest?
It will be about 3hp with a 100 litre air tank.
The only painting I will be doing is suspension parts, under side of vehicle and possably undercoat (I worked in a paint shop for awhile but the painters allways setup the air and guns for me, I just squirted the paint on).

I have painted a car for Ronda once before with 2k paint and it is very easy to work with.
But 1 of the local paint stores that we do alot of business with at work has offered to paint it for me at cost price, no labour or booth fees.

Actually, those pot scrubbers weren't Scotts idea at all.................It was his wife's idea.

Can't you see Scott, standing at the kitchen sink, doing the evening dinner washing up?.

Behind every successful man stands a .... well..you know how it goes

She just keeps placing the pot scrubbers in her shopping trolley and wonders where they go at home.
