What - Les finish his car ?!?!?!?

Rebel1 01-08-2004 05:47 AM

Gawd!!....If there is such a thing as re-incarnation, I'm coming back as whatever Pete or Craig do for a living. %/

Pete, Been good thanks mate.....we're sorta into our silly season with work. Not had a day off since mid December so not got a heap done since then.

If this keeps up, I'm gonna do a Craig and pack the thing off to that fella over the Southside and get him to finish it off for me.

Craig..shush you  .. I feel frustrated enuff without havin you on my back . :D

Hey...when we all gonna get together for a Chrissy/new years beer.... Easter? ;)

PCC 01-08-2004 06:06 AM

Les, my car would still look like this if I hadn't taken it to Scott's shed.....

PCC 01-08-2004 06:12 AM

Not quite the same without the hump.

So how are you going with the handling Craig?

Any ideas on how to keep 859HP going round a corner yet?

Rebel1 01-08-2004 06:23 AM

Hey Craig...that pic just confirms to me how well the RMC fits the traditional cobra image...pretty true to the original shape.

Pete...in a cobra, there is no way to make 859 Hp go round a corner  ...well...not in anger anyways. :D

Pete....so you're in UK?....bet it's a blu$$y site cooler there than it's been here lately. Bring back some coolness will ya ;)

PCC 01-08-2004 06:26 AM

Les,

You never want zero degrees coolness for more tha 2 minutes - its not good for the bones.

Rebel1 01-08-2004 06:27 AM

Hey craig..next time you frighten the hell out of your lady passengers in the cobra....make sure they dont get their skirt caught in the door.

Looks like she left in a hurry leaving half her apparel caught in the door....or did she just leave it the whole thing on the seat ?. :D

750hp 01-08-2004 06:28 AM

Peter - it's handling as well now as it did in the above photo..... !

No, it's not quite that bad... To be honest, I haven't driven the car for a month or so. Haven't even pulled the cover off it. It's hard to make improvements to the car if I don't even open the garage door to make sure the car's still there....

I'm working in Cannon Hill now, and I'm spending all my spare time looking for a house these days. Your street looks like a peaceful one - feel like having a new neighbour ???

I'm actually looking around Cannon Hill, Morningside, Norman Park, Coorparoo area. I wish I bought a house 2 years ago...... :(

750hp 01-08-2004 06:31 AM

Les - I agree that the RMC (and therefore the Harrison...) bodies look accurate enough for my liking.

People always say that Cobras are chick magnets, and there's the proof. Female passengers get in fully clothed, and leave them all behind.

I wish !

wilf leek 01-08-2004 06:35 AM

Peter - where in the Uk are you based? Might be able to show you a proper northern hemisphere Cobra.

Rebel1 01-08-2004 06:37 AM

ZERO!!!...hang on Pete....water freezes at 0 degrees ...Is it really that cold??

Hate to see the urinals over there :D

Craig....that'll teach ya to spend all ya pennies on all those horses under that inverted jet ski bonnet of yours.

My Daughter bought an old house at Wavell Heights two years ago for $165.000...paid $10.000 deposit...got $7000 first home grant, loan for the rest...sold it last month for $272.000. Has had a tenent in it since day one...even got a tax cut on the interest.

See what ya missed

750hp 01-08-2004 06:39 AM

....I might not have missed out....

Is she single? ;)

Rebel1 01-08-2004 06:42 AM

Craig..Think I told a story a while back about one of my lady neighbours comes over and insists on wearing mini skirts whilst I'm under the cobra on a creeper.

Trouble is...I get jambed under there and cant do a thing

PCC 01-08-2004 06:42 AM

Right answer Craig.

The difference is Les what would you prefer:

Being **** scared in Craig's car or reading a letter that says you're richer?

I'm with Craig, probably twice a week.

Goodnight guys

Rebel1 01-08-2004 06:46 AM

Yep..she sure is.....pretty as a picture too ...got her good looks from her old man ;)

Mind you....she's got a disposition like her mum....and thats not so pretty. :D

Rebel1 01-08-2004 06:51 AM

TWICE A WEEK!!!

Blu$$y hell....I'm missin out here somewhere.... Chrissy and new years have come and gone...I got the normal ties and hankies... sweating on my birthday now.

Anyone know when the next leap year is...maybe my luck will change :D

750hp 01-08-2004 06:55 AM

Her dad's looks and mum's disposition... What have you created ? :3DSMILE:

I'd better come and visit and give you a hand getting your car together one day. Make sure your neighbour's around - I'll bring my own creeper.

It's midnight, and I'm calling it a night.

See you!

PCC 01-08-2004 06:52 PM

Wilf,

Apologies - lost your thread due to the excitement on the forum last night. Mention HP to these guys over here and everything else is dropped.

As Les sensibly said anything above 400HP is neither practical or wise with the Speed Cops around ready to hand you down a fine.

Regarding where I will be in the UK etc. We fly into Manchester and then stay predominantly in Yorkshire (1st time back in 5 years). If you are in Leicester I doubt I will be able to persuade the family to make a detour. Shame, because I would'nt mind sitting in on a "black ice" spin.

The nearest I will get to a fast spin is my cousin's Lotus Elise, which he has promised me a drive after driving my Cobra last year over here (Different concept on cars in the UK - generally driven by the power to weight ratio. When a manufacturer refuses to put in electric windows as it only adds weight to the car you know they are pretty serious - at 700Kg's the Elise is pretty light).

Unless you know someone in Yorkshire who is willing to take the heated blankets off their Cobra I think I will be out of luck.

We've only 2 and a half weeks there so will be spending most of the time stood in front of a fire or downing John Smiths Magnet (real beer to Ozzie Lager Men).

How is that temperature at the moment (rising above zero) and when is the snow forecast again? Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
