Gt40

I am not sure if you guys remeber me talking about a GT40 being assembled here in Alice Springs.

Well I assumed it was a kit but after talking with some other enthusiasts in town today it turns out the car is a GENUINE GT40 that the guy pulled apart to restore.

I have put the feelers out to let him know I am keen to see his car, I know where he lives but dont want to just turn up one day.

So hopefully soon I will have some pics and info regarding this car.

I think this very car has been discussed on www.gt40s.com and from one of the owners it was discovered that is was a damn good copy. They are currently discussing what to do with it and some possible legal/retibution toward the previous owner. I'll have to see if I can find the number for you.

I spoke with the guy who owns the gt40 today, he has given me his number and said to pop over anytime this weekend.

We spoke for a short time and I asked him about his car, it is definatly not an original (he has heard the stories about it being real) it has a 302 windsor, with 4 down draft webbers.
The car is based on a 1964 mark 1, he started it about 6 years ago and he is all approved for rego, he even has a vin # allready without haveing the car completed yet.

He said he is near finished and is just doing the final fitout.
So I will have some pics soon.

Have not sent the button head sample to you. However my fastening guy who gave me a couple for you said they are readily available at any fastener/bolt type shop.
