Hi Guys ,
I just finished my dummy intake setup that i will be using to draw air from the scoop , For me to use the scoop in SA it has to be there for a reason so if i get my air for the motor from it i should be ok . Any opinions would be appreciated .

Duel or single flush?

I've got some PVC left over from my dummy intake if you run short.:D

What sort of air filter (if any) will you use?

I'm assuming the PVC will be replaced with stainless tube?

Should look nice.

It is there for a reason.

It looks tough and it sucks in the bugs before they hit the windscreen.

Hi ledge,

I took different approach. Put a RE-0870 k&N out front, tucked up inside front opening next to radiator, then used 102mm flex to throttle body. The scopp will just be there to put cool air onto manifold and headers.

I went this way as I was told scoop opening not large enough to get sufficient air in when trying hard.

Ian Pretty's CR Cobra uses scoop plus 2x 80 mm inlets to air box.

The most important thing is to make sure you are getting the coldest air as possible into the engine.

Phil.

The local hardware had trouble understanding what i needed all the fittings for  . Problem i have here is motor registration wont let the car through with a scoop on the bonnet unless it is being used for air intake ie subaru wrx . If it is just a lump on the bonnet it wont pass rego. i think it should be good hope the plastic doesnt melt but :D . Ill post pics when the alloy one is made

Hi Ledge,

intake setup looks good. I think you should check with Regency Park or your engineer, but my understanding is no forward facing scoop is allowed regardless. Guys in the club have told me they installed a piece of foam in the opening shaped as to have no sharp edges. I realize there are a lot of new cars on the road with scoops but individually constructed cars wont pass. Go figure. If Ive got it wrong and you find out anything more please keep us posted.

Regards.
