Engine Mounts Question

Engine has arrived, I'm hoping the LS1 mounts will fit. %/
I have contacted a few wreckers only to be told that LS1 engine mounts are like hens teeth. I asked Holden and they said the rubbers are about 130 each, the right hand mount is about 40 dollars and the left hand is about 250 dollars.

Can anyone send a photo of their LS1 block mounting points and approx mearsurements please.

I knew it would be a steep learning curve but I have been going straight up for ages now

Have tried to attach a photo here and place some in my gallery%/

Cheers SNKBTE

Hi there SNKBTE.
I went through engine mount hassles afew months ago, check out this thread http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=55506
I am pretty sure I have atleast 1 spare L/H aluminium ear laying around that your welcome to have.
Then all you need to do is purchase the R/H ear and 2 mounts.
If you like I can price these for you, I get cost price plus 10% since I work at a Holden dealer.
Just let me know.
No part of my mounts looked anything like what you are showing in your pic

Boxhead,

Its got me stuffed too. Have a look in my Gallery as I have posted other photo's of these mounts. The rubber is in the centre with a hole through the middle. Never seen anything like it. Hoping someone else will have :) .

The idea is that the standard LS1 mounts will replace these:confused:

The strange thing about it is that this is an LS1 Block.

Hi SNKBTE
I am running exactly the same motor as you (corvette winged sump) but my engine came with cast aluminium mounts wich are a lot differant than your picture.

PS. Ian set up his ls1 chassis with my motor and mounts so you might have to track down some corvette ones or fabricate them.

Those mounts you have are the standard Camaro / Firebird mounts. The CR chassis is set up for the Corvette Mounts which are similar to the Holden mounts ie Aluminium ears sitting on big rubber donuts. Just watch the spacings as the Holden ears are different to the Corvette ears.

You can see what the Corvette aluminium ears look like in this picture:

In this pic you can see the rubber mounts where the engine sits on the chassis.

Hope this helps

try these GMH part numbers.

92084910 x 2 (mount asm-eng m)
92056790 x 1 (bracket-eng mtg)
10260643 x 1 (brkt - eng mount)
11516078 x 4 (nut-m12x1.75-10)
11516284 x 6 (scr-m10x1.5x3)
92081757 x 2 (heatshield-engi)

Hi Snkbte,

The mount you need for the right side will be for a Vette LS1 available from Eagle Auto Spares Sydney 02 9771 5566 (not Melb). The part no is 10260643 at $154
You can use the the left alloy foot mount from a Commadoore but the right one is wider and not suiyable for Ians chassis.
Keep an eye on Ebay as the rubber mounts pop up every couple of weeks for sale.

Good luck,
Dale.
