Hey Cameron,,Cameronnnn come back.
**)........ Have fun. Looks good..%/ Cheers Bernie |
Yeah, Qlders only need roofs when we head down to that other state for Nationals. :D
|
Nice
Well done young fella, where is the pic of your smile when they started it up.
P.S Nice Vic plates, everything good comes from here. " Its the place to be " |
Garrett,
you should be able to see the smile reflected in the Blue Oval The Business End **) The roof is to keep my boyish complexion (and the upholstery) from fading in the eternal QLD sunshine... Oh yes, and for when I head down south. And sorry to say Garrett, but come next week, the plates in my avatar will be on this one... I think it's time for another drive.... Hmm, Mt Tamborine at this time of day should be quiet.... ;) |
Looking good
Looks like it has 2 rubber bands, nice donk, 1 for the power steering and 1 for the aircon.
Come on suns up, get out there... |
Hey there Cameron, very nice car there.
I have just 1 question, I thought you where fitting a Gen III engine, dont tell me you had some rocker covers machined up to try and make it look like a ford? |
Blasphemy!!
Gen III, isn't that a german dishwasher  It's a Ford from top to toe... call me a traditionalist.. ;) |
Very...very...very
NICE |
Car and engine look superb.
Congratulation Regards. |
The painful wait is over ! It looks great. Those air cleaners really fill up the engine bay nicely. Not as much as the twin intercoolers in your NSX though.... ;)
|
Thanks for all the great comments....
Car is very nice... So 500 k's later, I am sunburned :MECOOL: and have dry teeth :D See all the Qlders at the Feb Breakfast. |
Can't wait to see it at the Feb breakfast.
I shouldn't knock the roof, it's a bit difficult to open top cruise in a GT40. :D |
Steering wheel's on the wrong side??
BEAUTIFUL CAR OTHERWISE!!:D Coosawjack:MECOOL: |
Very nice Cameron. The car looks awesome and so to does the finish. Might have to look into a top for mine as it looks great on on yours, how easy are they to remove/replace and does it mark the body in anyway? Congrats on a beautiful cobra.
Cheers Leeroy |
Thanks Leeroy,
The top is very easy to fit and remove. I am away from home right now, but can send pictures of the fitting detail if you want it. There are tension sprung clips at each front corner that clip onto hooks mounted to the sides of the windscreen. The top front lip of the hardtop is channelled and fits snug, with rubber moulding over the curve of the top of the windscreen. The rear is held down by a bolt at each corner, just behind the door opening. the bolt passes through a mounting hole, like the ones on the door top for the 'slot in' windows. There is a thick, soft rubber seal that runs around the back of the top, where it meets the body. Providing both surfaces are clean and free of dirt, marking should be minimal. But that said, a lot of miles will eventually scuff the paint. I am not that fussed about it, as it is a car to use. If you wanted to preserve the paint, you could run a strip of the 3M clear where the rubber touches, and just replace it every now and again. Also something I might consider. Top is a snug fit with zero rattles even at relatively high speed. Vision is excellent from the rear wrap around window, and the top is lined inside. Very production in look and feel. I think they must have put a lot of hours into the shape, as it's just right in balance and gives the car a very cool stance. Regards |
I'm most impressed with the hardtop.
Looks balanced and certainly not as " addon " as some I've seen. The problem in Queensland is not the rain...but the sun. That top looks like a perfect solution on those frying days. Think I better get to the Feb brekky with a handful of tools. :) Wonder if cameron will notice it gone. ;) |
You're spot on there Les,
and it takes a fraction of the time that it would take to fit the soft top. Oh.. did I mention I run a few thousand volts through the mounting hardware to deter thieves.. |
