In the current issue of KIT CAR MAG (January 2005) page 59 is a very interesting version of a hard top. The rear of the top goes all the way back to the rear opening boot lid. The fuel filler then goes up through the roof. Usual design but looks effective.

Yeh, that looks like it. I think it give the car a better look than having a sharper return in the rear.
Although in the article the owner said he had to put inch size holes in the rear window to allow the wind to flow through. Good one Les SNKBTE |

Ian has be mould for a hard top but has never been asked to make one. He lists a price of $950+GST. I think this is for the bare unit with no glass. He also lists a price of $2470+ as a option on a turn key job. Happy to join a mass order. Cheers, Dale. |

Just rang Ian to discuss possibility of running a batch of hard tops.
He wasnt keen at all. Reckons the main issue is that with the slight differences in windscreen location makes it hard to provide a top that will fit everytime:CRY: I 'll report back once I talk to Homebush Fibreglass tomorrow. Snkbte thanks for heads up on Air con. Phil |

the AC was fitted here, but came from the US. It's a neat unit, totally invisible from inside the car. The controls are vintage, and work with the dash perfectly. I understand it was a p#$@k of job getting it all under the dash, but they have done an admirable job. The air flow is very good and cold. I owe you all some pics of the Hardtop, et al... I hope to get them up today... Cameron |

The Gen 111 engine I bought came with the compressor. If it clears the steering shaft Iam in bussiness. Found a local company called Jayair that make a unit I should be able to hide under dash. Look forward to your photos. Thanks, Phil. |
Well this thread has stired up some intrest looks like there might be a few hardtops at the nationals this year.
If we can get a few pics of differant brands of hardtops we could all put our heads together and get some built with the best ideas from all amalgamated into one. Please, please, please, need pictures Craig W |
Yeh pic's a good. Phil, Ian makes a good point about the screen position/rake as each one likes a different rake. I went with his standard distance he gives in one of his drawings for mounting screen, it may prove each car will need individual fitting which I think was always going to be anyway. Still keen to Homebush's solution.

Yeah I agree that different people putting the same car together can rake the screen back further than recomended in the build instructions.

Yeah I agree it is verrrrrry basic and I havent really used it yet apart from looking for part numbers.

To be fair I did get hard copy of new manual. After I finished. Its a big improvement but more is required. I have a copy of the manual put out by Pilgrim in UK. Now thats a manual. Great pictures lots of words, drawings schematics hinrs etc. good stuff. I'll scan it if any one interested. Phil |
