LS1 thermostat housings

I was looking in LS1tech.com last night and found a staright thermostat housing being made by CSR in the states. They retail for $34 plus shipping. The cat number is #911LS1
I have ordered one and will post pics when it arrives.
I can't work out how to attach a pic tthis thread so you will just have to take a peek on their site yourself.
Have a great easter break guys.

Gav.

Here's a link LS1 Thermostat Housing

Looks like a neat bit of kit.

I've already sorted all my water pipes but if I did it again I'd buy one of these.

Cheers

I am thinking about placing an order.

Any other guys interested, we may be able to save on shipping.

Cheers,

Ben

I'll take one, but then you'd have to ship it over to WA. I'm sure we can work something out though....

Summit Racing

HI Guys,
I have bought a heap of CSR parts from Summit racing in the states. The dollar is good at the moment and as Beejay has mentioned, group the buy and you will save on freight, there is also a $28US handling fee per order.

Do not worry about shipping once in OZ.

My work will not mind if an airbag or two gets used....

Ben

Plums 04-25-2006 04:40 AM

In that case, count me in....

pneall 04-25-2006 04:05 PM

Ben,

put me down for one also please:)

Phil:)

Include me in

Hi Ben,

Not sure what I am buying, but it looks nice, so include me in.

Plums, I am coming over to Perth for the Ireland v's Wallabies test in June, so if needed and airbags can't do the trick I can bring it over with me.

Beejay 04-25-2006 08:32 PM

OK

We will wait another couple of days, then I will place an order.

Sydney guys I will catch up with, other states we will sort out direct deposit or something.

Cheers,

Ben

Hey Guys,
My thermostat housing arrived last week and I specified that I only required normal US air freight, all up it was about $70AU delivered.
The one and only draw back is that you require a new thermostat, since the old housing is one piece with the mechanism.
I have posted a couple of pics in my gallery.

If I havent missed the order yet BeeJay then can you count me in?

cobbindale 04-26-2006 06:12 AM

Could I also put my hand up for one please.

Cheers,
Dale.

Gav,
$70AUD is a bargain. Thats exactly what I need on my setup. I got the coolflex plumbing which looks good but its got so many bends in it it looks like toilet plumbing:CRY: Think I will look into one also.

What are you going to do for a thermostat? is it because the OE one is to big in diameter or length?

Not bad looking fab. work on the sidepipes for a sparky either, it looks a bit like Mikes workshop. I think you should be renamed to the "apprentice".
Nice work & well done.

Hows the construction business going also?

Gav,

Please confirm what thermostat is required.

On a similar subject, how much roughly are those dual pass radiators with both outlets on the right side?

Do they allow room for an air intake over the top?

Cheers,

Ben

Leeroy 04-26-2006 05:04 PM

Beejay

I got a new radiator from PWR in QLD which was able to be made to the size I wanted. (Copied one Phil Chisholm designed) which allowed me more than enough space to make a cold air intake to come in directly over the rad. and straight to the T/Body.

I'll post some pics today.

ps/ make sure they don't paint "PWR" on the front like they did with mine:CRY:

Radiator clearance

The intake has plenty of air coming in over the radiator without restrictions

Tenrocca 04-26-2006 06:57 PM

My rad has some writing on it, but the guy told me it comes off with carb cleaner. Havent tried it yet though.

Beejay 04-26-2006 07:13 PM

Approx cost Leroy?

I have a perfectly good std radiator now, so trying to justify a shiny new one!

Cheers,

Ben

pneall 04-26-2006 07:45 PM

Leeroy,

The std thermostat housing has lugs that hold the thermostat in place. Not possible to machine up easily so I suspect that why a different thermostat is required. just match the temp and all should be OK.

This will work real well on your dual pass set up.

PS . Bet mike is on his way home to machine up a billet jobie as we speak:LOL:

Regards,

Phil:)
