This is just a general observation...

But isn't it impossible to have an ADR compliant generic exhaust system for a Cobra.

From what I understand, to get ADR compliance, involves the total package - engine, intake system and exhaust system. The whole package is ADR complianced. If any part of the package is changed, it is no longer ADR complianced...unless that change has been specifically re-ADR tested with rest of the package.

So ADR compliant aftermarket exhausts for Cobra would be near impossible as everyone uses different engine/intake combinations.

But ADR compliant aftermarket exhaust for Falcon XR6, is quite doable as the base vehicles are all the same. Just add the exhaust changes, get it re-tested and voila, you have an ADR complianced exhaust any XR6 owner can use.

So when Superformance got 347 stroker ADR complianced, the ADR compliance would only be valid if the engine configuration, intake & exhaust system were identical to the complianced setup.

ADR compliance isn't just getting emmissions to standard, but would also cover noise.

It's a lot simpler when it comes to lights etc and ADR compliancing. But hey, we just use parts off production vehicles as we already know they have ADR compliance.

I'm no expert on this and could be looking at this the wrong way. Any comments?

I'm confused!

Umm, I'm confused...
To quote "Side Pipes On Ebay That Do Work???????, Well Im The Guy Who Built Them, And As For Adr Thay Pass, I Have Built Over Ten Of Them Over The Past Ten Years Or So, And You Are Correct About The Adr For The Left Hand Side Being Allowed, But Now Its Straight Out The Back. The Pipes I Build Have Cats And Co2 Sencor Mountings. The System Goes Back, Under The Chassis And Over The Rear Axle And Out The Back. So Thay Pass[/i]

How can they be ADR side pipes if they run out the back??? What am I missing??

I'm guessing that the right-hand side would be a true side pipe exiting behind the door, whereas the left-hand side (not legally able to be directed toward a sidewalk) would typically be a cosmetic pipe, with the exhaust exiting out the back. Is this correct?

Venom, it might be an idea to drop the 'Capitalise Every Word' typing...very hard to read and detracts from the seriousness of your posts, but just my 2 cents worth
Cheers Dave

I say run em both out the side and worry about burnt calves and ADR's when they happen....

Yeah yeah I know...before you say it....BUT I'm doing it anyway..

Hello Venom (David).
I thought I was being fairly reasonable in my post on this thread and have not tried to down grade yourself or your work.
I still really dont understand what you are saying in your first reply on this thread but I can tell you I got fairly ticked off after emailing yourself on numerous occasions only to in the end see no replies.
The last half dozen or so emails I sent where actually asking for your bank details so I could deposit money into your account (glad that didnt happen) to purchase 3 wiper arms and blades.
Yes I realise these are small and trivial items (and I actually dont require them anymore) but what annoyed me about it is that you are using ebay as a way of running a business and frankly arent doing a very good job of it.
At one point in time after a lengthy delay you appologised and said your pc had crashed, well low and behold it is the same excuse you are using in the attached link.
I recomend you buy another pc.

Sorry about the rant but I am telling you how I saw it from my end.

Now that I have that out of the way, if you are trying to make a fair go at the Cobra accesory trade can you supply some better quality pics of the roll bar (unpainted) with the 3rd leg?

Shelby400 06-07-2006 04:13 PM

I am in the same situation. David is making some side pipe covers for me and I have requested his account number on a number of occasions. His response to my emails could be more timely.
I am supposedly receiving the covers some time this week via COD postage.
Hopefully everything will work out OK.

Shelby400 07-12-2006 07:49 PM

Come on Venom put the gloves on and have a go.

spookypt 07-13-2006 04:39 PM

Ouch

Gents
There does seem to be a few issues with the whole Cobra Ebay thing. I also sent off an email regarding a wheel package price request with no response... Sure emails can get lost and stuff but there seems to be a little bit of continuity of complaints here. I also know of someone else who tried a few times to source parts off the ebay site and he had to get stroppy to get what he wanted.

To keep it fair I have to say that if your running a business through ebay you really have to make sure that you respond to all emails promptly and send orders quickly to gain a good consistant rep. So...

I'm going to resend my email...and try again... Will post up a feedback if I hear anything.

Sorry guys for the slow replies tor the parts on eBay; we are still in the middle of a massive move to the new factory and home. When I decided to get back into making parts for the industry, I new what I wanted and the owners wanted, they were to be as good as you can get, or better, and this means the right supplier, price, qty and quality, if I was sell cr*p I could, but I won’t. This will be a full time job one day, but to sell a set of side pipes for $720 chromed and tig welded, your not going to make a killing that way, I do it because I love the car and I like doing the work that I do. So if it takes time to get back to you, I’m probably trying to sort thru the mind field of rubbish that eBay and pay pal throes at me, or trying to build stuff for you guys. NOW I hope this all helps and we can be happy little jelly beans and all get back to working on what we love to do (working on your cars). Thanks
David.......PS: shelby400 thay do look good.........PS.2) we all lost

Beejay 07-21-2006 06:30 PM

Dave,

How about you put a list of your products in here so we know what is available.

I might be interested in a set of those SS quickJacks.

Ben
