DRB Cobra Register

I have started a DRB Cobra Register as per Mike's initiative...

So far I have me and me and me.

Not many DRB's on this Site as it has been swamped by the CR guys.

Probably not worth the effort:JEKYLHYDE

Good to hear that a DRB Cobra got people's choice at the Macleans Car Rally (a classy car show up here in the sunny state) beating not so cheap ferrari's, jags, MG's, Triumphs, GT40's etc etc etc

dbn04 05-14-2006 11:55 PM

hey , i got one as well . that makes 2 and its ford powered .

PCC 05-15-2006 12:45 AM

Pete,

Whose was the silver DRB that got People's Choice.

Suprised yours wasn't in for a prize or 350HP:confused:

Alvin 05-15-2006 01:26 AM

I've also got one and its also powered by a ford. And its up for sale.

BMK 05-15-2006 05:08 AM

Alvin

Up for sale? Well what's on the horizon?

 Marriage, wife, kids, girlfriends, houses, renovations...

Why not a "non-CR" Register? :D
Or even a "non-Dark side" register? that will out number 'em ;)

Aussie Mike 05-16-2006 06:45 AM

Your on your way Pete. I reckon you would be best to raise it as a suggestion at a club meeting. There are heaps of them out there just not many of them on here.

Fire them up about getting on Club Cobra too. It'd be good to see a few more Aussie enthusiasts on here.

Cheers

Mike,

I agree with your suggestion and will try and get more of the QLD members to frequent the Cobra Site.

Would be refreshing to here some of their experiences and advice in raltion to builds etc etc etc.

Nothing worse than such Sites going stale due to lack of varied contribution.

Watch this space;)

The weather is so good up here, we have much better things to do. :D (flame suit is on)

Beejay 05-16-2006 09:11 PM

98% of the people in Qld are retirees anyway, so plenty of time on their hands.:D :D (Extra thick flame suit on)

Thats why I mix with all you babies - Keeps me young.

I thought you had to be old to afford one and thats why I felt like the odd one out:D

After seeing images of Bernie and others I realise I am the young one - flame suit now ignited.

Longest Build

G'day PCC
I have a August 1998 built DRB, Chassis #197, which I have just started work on again after a four year layoff. It will have an LS1 in it, as that is the only way I can get it registered in NSW now.
So, LS1, 4 speed Auto, Commodore VN-P rear end.
Do I qualify for the longest build period??? :) :)
Regards
Garry

Question for all of you DRB guys (gals?) out there. I am interested in buying a kit from Australia to import into Indonesia but....it has be from someone who can put together a complete package for me right now to the last nut and bolt. There aren't any sources for kits over here or parts other than 2 odd wannabees such as mine. The kit would have to be one I can put together without any welding or fabrication, have to have the motor with it, autotrans (stuffed left knee), diff and driveshaft too. About the only thing I can get over here are tires. Even rims would be iffy and not much choice. Is there any one out there that will sell me such a package. Advertised on this site CC, is a place called Hurricane Motorsports, that's the kind of kit I want but not a left hooker. I would appreciate any help.....thanks

try this link, http://www.gt40australia.com/

cameron02 07-17-2006 05:34 AM

Hi Peter you can put me on the DRB register. My car is registered now although I'm still finishing the interior and paint.

Hi Ken. DRB could probably supply you with everything but I reckon the cost would work out sinilar to purchasing a completed turn key car. Fabricating things is where much of the savings are.

fastraxsg 07-17-2006 05:53 AM

Thanks for the info guys....will contact them and see what we can work out if anything. If I have to fabricate it might be a problem, welding on mild steel I can do but am worried if I get something wrong or can't figure it out, there isn't anyone around to help or advise me. I can imagine for the cost of a ticket and a vacation I could get a lot of volunteers to come up though. I'll keep ya posted...thanks again.
