Hello everyone Im a new member and quess what, Im after a set of 15 x 8 Jag stud pattern and 15 X 10 ford stud pattern halibrand wheels and a AC wood grain 14" steering wheel

There are quite a few Variations of Cobra wheels made for many appications & offsets. to name a few...

Hi mate , yes another classic revival student.
I'm in Leichhardt and at this point have paid for the body and chassis and waiting for the little bugger to arrive (3 weeks to go)
At this point im gathering bits , got a AU falcon IRS rear end and Jag front etc.
Where are you and how far have you got ?

Thanks for the help i have been in contact with a guy in Melbourne called Millaz wheels and Oz wheels in Sydney .
Millaz wheels look great but a little $$$$
Oz wheels im not to keen on .
So I will try your suggestion.

Im at Campbelltown, and at rolling (well I will be as soon as some missing springs turn up - tomorrow hopefully) chassis stage. Should be wheeling it out of the garage this weekend and dropping the body on so it looks like a real car. thers a lot of us around in Sydney at present, and fortuately for a dumb arse like me a lot of helpful guys in here as well all building classic revivals (were taking over!). Make sure you post pics of the big day.

Went and priced Simmons Wheels last Friday and we will go for them. Nice wheels, unfortunately I may have to get a second job doing something that will get me a heap of cash real quick

Paul, if you are chasing Moto-lita steering wheel. Be worth speaking to Don from Snake Bite(Ph 07 5529 0877) he is the OZ Distributor for them.

Unfortunately I don't think any of the Aus manufactured Halibrands are anywhere near as good as US sourced versions.

Don't complain about wheel prices, I got quoted on some 18"x13" wheels in the style I liked for the rear of my GT40. $1500ea.

What wheel is that for $1500.00, I am looking at a set of Budnik "fontana" rims and the 18 x 12s are $1800.00 each. Really baulking at the price but would like to get an 18 x 12 so that I can put on the kumho race tyres 335 30 18s. So anything better in price would be good to see.

Churchy, I am in for any money making plans.

They sell Intro billet 2 piece wheels. I was interested in Exposed - Sleek model. It's for a street car.

Just looked at those Budnik "fontana" wheels. Oooh, I like fat lips. Some nice styles there. www.budnik.com.au

I'll be seriously chasing wheels next month. Not sure of your time frame, but can let you know what I find. Will look into some of the Jap wheels.

Simmons do not do a true 18" wheel, they use the same centre as 17", so will not clear my front brakes. Simmons are cheap for a 3 piece, but there are reasons for that.

I've got a set of 335/30-18 Michelin Pilot tyres

You might want to think about 13" wide rims with Kumho if they are the same spec as Michelin/Pirelli road tyres. The 12" rims don't quite stretch the 335/30-18's out enough. Both wear and tyre performance suffers when run on 12". 12" wide would be fine for 335/35-17's due increased sidewall height. Major manufacturers always run 335/30-18's on 18"x13" wheels.

You know your performance on track will suffer running that large a rear tyre on a Cobra. My brother gets hounded for running 255's on rear of that Harrison by race tyre shops, they reckon they are too wide for that car. He seems to get enough heat into them, so maybe not.

Your Cobra would look fantastic from the rear with those tyres. Got a couple of Cobra's up here than run 315/35-17's and they look tough.

The Kumho site actually recommends a 12 inch rim. But with the Toyos they quote a range from 11.5 to 13.

I have 285 35 19s on the rear and I must say I dont like the look, I like the wide rear tyre. The 15inch rims with the rounded side walls look really good.

With performance the car is way better than my ability would ever be, you could throw on a set of devon slices on and I would still be the weak link.

Have you had a look at the Ford racing catalogue 2006, they have a set of wheels that fit the new GT 40, they look good, I think they are 18s up front and 19s for the back.

Yeah, have Ford Racing catalogue here and saw those Ford GT wheels in there...pretty surprising. Doubt offsets would be right, doesn't matter as I prefer polished wheels.

Good news with Kumho rated for 12" wide...that should save a little money on rims.

Yeah, I like the look of wide tyres as well. That's why the GT40 is getting 335's. I'm lucky in that the GT40 has heaps of space under the guards for big rear tyres, the 335's just float around in there.

I was at a male only rugby function last Friday night. The "Entertainment" was fantastic and if that is the standard you need for pole dancing. Then I fall waaayyyyy short in more that one area.

At the other end of the spectrum...

I got some mags out of the trading post $150 for the set of 4. Only 15x7 but will do until I make a decision on upgraded brakes/stud pattern etc.

Not exact replicas but have seen some (DB51B) on a Cobra at the Vic Club meetings and they look very nice. Have the brochure somewhere and seemed to be reasonably priced at the time.

American racing wheels have a replica called 'cobra' (der)
I was priced by AJ's wheels in Melb (03 97616969) at around $500 inc gst per corner for 17x8's and 15's are cheaper. Tony is great to talk to and included in the price is a trial dummy wheel to check offset.
Personally you could alot worse.
Good luck with the build, if you find yourself standing around just looking and not completly sure on where to start, your dilema is totally normal!!!
