Default any new events in Qld happening?

Hey everyone. I have finally managed to convince my wife that buying a cobra would be the best thing we ever did (cost me 4 cocktails and a bottle of wine to soften her up!). I was wondering if there were any events or club days coming up in QLD soon? I'm living in Noosa, but don't need much of an excuse to go for a long drive.
I'll post some photos of my pride and joy soon.
Cheers

Gidday Ferocios fish! The QLD Cobra Car Club has its monthly meetings the first Sunday of every month at Sancturay Cove so if you come down this weekend we'll all be there! There is nearly always something happening each weekend, Saturday afternoon sprints and car shows etc and the club puts on all sorts of events and dinners if your into that sorta stuff.

While I couldn't see the photo of your car in your profile I think I've seen it! I have alot of friends live up there and we saw a nice Cobra a month or 2 ago and they are rare up there..

Feel free to come down on Sunday and say hello. Heaps of friendly faces and very welcoming.

I listed in a previous post upcoming race events for QLD like Leybourne Sprints, Speed on Tweed and the Noosa Hill Climb. Didn't get alot of takers to join me but seeing as though you're a Noosa local how about joining me in November for the hill climb????? Stretch the legs on the 302 and drive in anger!!! Sounds like a plan...

Although my car has been in rebuild mode since December, hopefully just 2 more months to go!

It's so painful! But all good things come to those who wait!

Hey Matt. Yep I reckon Noosa Hill Climb has got our names written all over it! I'll try to talk the wife into a trip to sanctuary cove, but it shouldn't be a problem. Might need to rug up though, these early mornings are getting a bit brisk...What time do they generally meet? Also how do i join the Qld Cobra Car Club? Can I do it on the day?
Cheers Dave

Dave...sounds good. Yep you can join on the day. Our club presidents name is Warren Boylan. We all have a breakfast on the Sunday morning. Cars start rocking up about 7am and we go in for a breakfast and Club report round up about 7.30. If the weather is good (this weekend looks a cracker) usually there is up to 30 Cobs and a few GT40s thrown in the mix as well. After the breaky often there is a drive somewhere to blow the cobwebs out...

As I mentioned my car won't be there as its being worked on but I will be in a black SS Ute so come up and say hi! Whats your rego and I'll keep an eye out for you so as I can intro you to a few people and make you feel welcome..

Actually send me an email to matt@ghiofficeinteriors.com.au and I will forward to you Warrens email address and he will send you some Club applications in the mail.

As far as Noosa Hill Climb goes yep, lets do it! Its rare to see many Cobs up there but a few club guys have done it in previous years. You'll need to make sure your car is up to scrutiny but you'll have plenty of time to do that!

See you Sunday hopefully.

MATT

Hey Matt, I have emailed you to forward on Warrens details. Rego is 256HQU, and toffee apple red in color but it's easy to pick out 'cause it has the twin single hoop roll bars and there's not a lot of them around. Looking forward to catching up but not looking forward to the early morning chilly start!! Brrrrr.....

Sure, I also know that Warwick Harrison has been researching units for some of his projects, so there will be plenty of knowledge about... mostly from others

Welcome aboard Dave - Good to see a victorian who has seen the light

Mine has double hoops, but is toffee blue

I was up at the Noosa Hill Climb a couple of years ago and had to wait for the last two cars to go up (Cobras of course). Great track but a pain on the old walking legs. Much better if you are driving.

Good to see some more QLD representation over the winter months. Those southerners end up hibernating at this time of year

Hi Dave,

Will try and get there, but I do struggle on Sunday's as its my day of rest so to speak - just a lazy ar%e

If I'm there you'll recognize the car as it has new plates on 2DY FOR.

You'll have to be on the road at 5AM to get there!
