Default New Rubber...

Got some new tyres for the Ute today!



Oddly enough though, they didn't seem to fit on the Ute...
I think I found a better home for them.





The rears are Sumitomo HTRZ 315/35's and the fronts are Yokohama DNA GP 235/45's. Aesthetically, the front tyres don't exactly match the rears, but I just couldn't pass up the two for the price of none deal being offered, (a mate imports Jap cars and the tyres must be replaced to meet ADR's, I actually got four fronts).

I'm happy now, it's starting to look like a Cobra.....

My body is far from straight..... glad you clarrified that point!!!

It's the new body and you're right, it is very straight! A couple of coats of blocked back primer should see it spot on I reckon.

Rob (G-force) reckons that the cost of a paint job has almost halved for the new body vs the old one, due to the minimal preparation required.

Sorry to say the rubber and the wheels look crap, come to think of it so does the entire car.
So to save you having to look at that embarrasment in your garage i'll let you store it in mine for as long as you like

I'm most impressed in the new G-force.

Would be a tuff call buying a kit now.....the Harrison, G-Force and CR are all top class acts.

If Rob was on the east coast he'd do very well.

Looking good, it's amazing how much difference wheels & fat tyres make.

The wheels and tyres look great . The body looks even better. That has got to be the best out of the mould body made in Australia.

I concur...Those wheels make some of the other hallibrands out there look a little ordinary, and the body looks just right. Not just the finish, but I reckon they have one of th best shapes going round..

mmmmm....

I thought my RMC had the best shape - oh well.

Are pin drive wheels legit for reg or is that another one of those WA specials (like side pipes)

you need some more weight in the front - maybe you'll have to stop using those lightweight engines.

I'm sure I didn't specify the Ford boat anchor 380,000,000 lb springs for the front, I'll have to check those out......

Real pin-drives are ok over here, (Rob is currently getting one ready for rego that has them) as long as "they are real and are lockwired"...
I might try and go through with them and see what happens, undecided yet.

As far as I know every car can have pin drive wheels here. We do not have an ADR that specifically covers this(restricts this). Just make sure they are lock wired, which means they are fastened safely.

Just watch out though, don't have the spinners sticking out further than the wheel(a real problem on the front). This is frowned upon as not being pedestrian friendly and ADR's certainly restrict this. If they do stick out, just use those large hex nuts.
