Matt/Spookypt,
Sorry dont know who you are however congratulations on your purchase and welcome to Daytona ownership and in answer to your question; yes definitely the blue car is your car in the photos from the Vic club day and my car is the white Daytona with black stripes in the same photo that was being completed. (I have attached another couple of photos of your car) I have been at the Nationals for the last 3 years and perhaps you have seen my car though it only has an LS1 and not the LS7 as yours and all the rest of Richards Daytonas. I must say I am super jealous of the Holinger as well, as my TKO is useless on the track - but that's another story. If you ever feel like a chat, give me a call and again congratulations. Good work Matt, Can I get in line for a ride....?
Cheers |

GIdday Theo. Thanks for the pics. Yes we have met. You showed my wife and I your car one year at the nats when my car was broke. Sadly that occurs often lol so I'm not sure what year it was. You were very kind in showing us and obviously really love your car.
I'd never thought of buying a Daytona but opportunity knocked and I have to say I'm really pleased in hindsight I did. I'm not a chev specialist but my cars an ls2. Had an engine blueprint last year with cam etc etc and it goes quite well. It's not going to be a full on track car as my goal is to try and build some reliability into ole number 6. But I'll still do track days and a few hill climbs too to be social and have some fun. Spookypt |

Small world. Something arrived for my shed today. My car! No not the one pic'd below. Its travelling companion up the Pacific Highway was an Alloy Kirkham that was dropped off at AP (Unless its your new AP Alloy - Dave - Wow that was fast if that's the case) on the way to my house and this beaut. A genuine Phase... Sounded tuff and was heading back to Melbourne.
My cars in the shed and now its reincarnation will begin. :-) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ONASFRIEND.JPG |
Ha haa no I dont think it was my Alumina.....Pace do tell me that the new body buck is ready so wont be to much longer till they start shaping alloy....
Aircon and a seq gearbox...is that having your cake and eating it??? |

Worked on the car last night to check everything over for its RWC. Checking checking...What the! No bloody brake lights. Urgh. Problem found faulty actuator switch. Lucky I checked. Part ordered.
All things being equal that'll be my only hiccup so good to get that little gremlin sorted. (Hopefully my 2 pallets of parts arrive this week to Towys residence. Yes I have an inventory so I know if anything gets "borrowed" in the land of V8 Supercars and bent Perspex!) Pop around between Mooloolaba late's Ash if you wanna squiz. |
Take some walk-around video of it running Spook!
|
Destickered and restickered ready for a rwc/rego. Then I'll get it on the hoist, go over it, fab up a few quick things and hopefully get to the May QCCC breaky.

well done bloke I bet your as happy as a pig in poo
|
Yes Deano I'm quite chuffed.
RWC was done at noon and by 1.30pm it had full rego compliance and plates from QLD Transport. No issues. I even walked into Qld Transport and got my ticket number and as the machine printed it out they called it out. I never even sat down! I thought I was being punked April fools. Only thing we found on RWC was the serperntine belt was missing a rib (frayed) so I went down my local parts house and it sits in my car awaiting reinstallation. I just need to figure how it runs around all those cheby pulley doodads again! CALLING TOWMASTER! LOL |
Jeez if Qld Transport started playing April Fools jokes, I think there'd be a riot!
Well done on getting it on the road with an absolute minimum of fuss. Considering the spec of the car, it's about as close as you could get to a modern race car for the road. |
Well done Mate......now get out there and make a vid of you shifting gears so we can all drool...
|
Are your serious...... only one more pic.... you are a tease.
Well done on the quick rego and it is just outright awesome to see when cars like this are driving around. Congrats and look forward to seeing it at a club meeting. |
