Flying between here and Sydney. I'm single handedly paying off a new holiday home for the owner of the Airport Newsagency.:o

Aussie Mike,
I know that newsagency - think more like bringing the rest of the family out.....:3DSMILE: |
Mike,
Where do you find such a magazine:( Up here in bananaland we are are pretty restricted to Australian Classic and other main stream mags. I'm one step behind the macdonald's magnate wondering whether to ditch the Cobra and move to a Daytona so any such reading would be of interest. With Warrick possibly moving into Daytona's - Craig please confirm that this is the case I may find one on the doorstep so to speak - Time will tell. The problem I'm finding is that my business is doing so well I simply cannot find time to get the current ***** of a snake out of the garage:( |

Warwick has also sold his factory demonstrator Cobra, with plans I think to build a Daytona for himself. |
Sorry for the thread drag Mike but you mentioned you were interested in my next shed item acquisition and I couldn't resist the irony of your thread topic.
Your topic date is 2006 so I'm not sure if this is the same mag in which you refer but the mag pictured came out in Dec 2009. On the cover is Richard Bendells car no 7 of 14 built to date. And now mine. Richard is doing some work on it for me now and I should see it in my shed before Easter. Worked LS2, Hollinger Seq plus some nice fruit. With AC installed it'll keep me cooler and less burnt in summer. I'm getting soft. Spookypt http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13425 |
A Holinger sequential in a road car will be unreal! Congrats on the purchase Spook, it should be a weapon.
...and doesn't every self respecting road car need 2 x Motec dashes?!? :) |
I think for Chris' sake you should put the TKO in it... And loan me the Holinger.....
Actually I'm selling my house! I'll buy it off you! |
That's very cool Matt. Looking forward to reading more about this one!

Richard Bendell was the Guest Speaker at this month's meeting in Vic.
The club had previously had the good fortune to visit is shop. [pics below] On both occasions Richard was very generous with his time and experience and told some great stories. I doubt there is a better engineered Daytona and I think you're very fortunate to get your hands on one. Very jealous Spook, the Daytona sports cars are a favourite of mine.
I went and had a look at the factory with the Vic club years ago, it was a very impressive setup. |
Dsc
Lobelly I can't see the rego of the blue car in your pics but I'd say that's mine. Its the car featured on Richards website and has been used for all his marketing and magazine work. It holds an Australia Hill Climb record at RobRoy but I'll be using it for track days and club runs etc.
Richard rang me and asked me if he could take the car to your meeting but the old owner wasn't prepared to risk it until it was fully paid for etc. which was fair enough. Its now in Richards factory getting some work done I wanted and then off to QLD. The old owner Neil and Richard have been nothing but great to deal with and made the whole buying experience a real pleasure. Spookypt |
Thanks Gav. When I saw the rose jointed door hinges I thought WOW what's the rest of the thing like. It really was all pretty impressive.

I bags a ride when I see you next!!!!

That was a great day out for the Vic Club. I was thoroughly impressed with the engineering that had gone into those cars. As you can imagine I spent a fair bit of time under the car on the hoist marveling at everything. It's a shame to cover it all up with bodywork. But if you are going to cover it, then a nice swoopy Daytona body shell is a good choice.
I found it a snug fit for me in the drivers seat, but at least I could get in it. The Harrison Dayton is just too tight for me :( Cheers |
Couple of pics of the car for those interested.
Will have to fab up a front rego plate bracket. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13439 Love that shifter. Someone put a motec in my glove box. Note the "Brock" plaque tribute on the dash centre. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13440 Getting some tweaks and AC installed. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...ictureid=13441 Spookypt |
I think I just turned green.
