Question Which Motor???

I am still looking at which kit to buy, but does anyone have a definitive answer on which motors we can use with that would comply with the current ADR's regarding emissions for an ICV in Qld?

Your choice in QLD at the moment is wide and varied. This is what I think is still allowed.

Ford 302 windsor(needs to be late model EFI)
Ford 347 windsor(stroker found in TE50)
Ford 351 windsor(needs to be version in Saleen Mustang)
Ford 4.6 modular
Ford 5.4 Boss
Lexus(toyota) 1UZFE and it's variants.
Holden/Chev LS1, LS2 etc
And lots of other exotics...

You choices are pretty good in QLD. Have a talk to Warwick Harrison(Cobra Kits) and Peter Ransom(DRB) they will up to date on changes and requirements for QLD. Both of their kits take all of the above engine configurations.

Engine choice comes down to personal preference and what you want out of your Cobra. No one engine suits every builder.

Thanks Craig. Roll on the November meeting...and visits to Harrison and DRB
I thought the LS1 motors were not compliant with the emission ADR?

The exact opposite, I'm pretty sure we can use any LS1, even the earlier models...unlike those poor souls down south.

Bang for buck, the LS1 is a great option when combined with that T56 six speed and also a nice fit.

But hey, there are also pros to stick with traditonal Ford powerplant.

Really depends what you are after. Offer is still open to help show you around the manufacturers on that November weekend.

As you say, roll on November...

Craig,

I will take you up on the offer of touring both manufacturers if still ok with you. Then the Qld breakfast meeting Sunday morning the 5th Nov.

Do you want me to contact both Warwick and Peter , or as you know them well, maybe you could line up times???
I can be at your place any time saturday morning as I will stay in Brisbane Friday night.
