Rich Queenslanders

OK all you wealthy Queenslanders let the moth out of the wallet and get down to the registration office and place a bid..%/

Unique plates are up for sale.

Sorry that well known hairdresser has Q1 plates but the rest are still there.

Up for grabs is Q4000 for the brisbane owner.

BENTLEY, CRICKET, Q21 etc.

Mmmm Stefan paid $400,000 and it's now worth $1,000,000

Rebel1 02-06-2007 02:46 PM

Oi Bernie, you watching Sunrise?. ;)

Go open the store and make me a big brekky thanks. :) :p

BMK 02-06-2007 05:35 PM

The auction is tonight at South Bank.

Hey, if you go to the "THE WILDCARDS" page, one of the suggested options is "MYCOBRA". Hmm, would be good for XC Hardtop Cobra's I suppose. Can't think of anywhere else you could use it, unless you were a snake fanatic. :p

The difference between 'worth a million' and 'sold for a million' is like the difference between, my cobra has 600HP and a 10 sec 1/4 ;)

Stefan paid $100K for Q1 at the plate auction in 1985.
Q21 sold for $97500 last night.
The wildcards were a surprise - selling in the $25K to $30K range.
PCC - you'll like this..... The "ENGLAND" plate was offered for an opening bid of $20K. No takers. $15K, no takers. $10K, $5K.... no takers. Some punter in the background offered "a hundred bucks". Lots of laughs from the crowd. Ahh, the timing in trying to sell a plate after such an impressive international cricket season :)

sambo 02-07-2007 03:31 PM

Seriously, I hope whoever paid nearly 100k to drive around with Q21 numberplates - I hope they also give generously to charity. That's absurd to me.

PCC 02-07-2007 06:00 PM

Plates are becoming an Investment and I think that was Stefan had in mind when picking up Q1. I understand he has a varied collection of plates (all probably rising in value as the years go by).

Its a bit like buying artwork and placing it in storage for re-sale when you retire.

Craig,

ENGLAND hmmmm I'm not sure I'd want to have that on a car at the moment. Maybe when we win the Rugby World Cup AGAIN later this year (FAT CHANCE!)

Victorian plates go for much more than what they are going for in QLD... take a look at Shannon's auction results next auction, you will get a surprise.

I am in awe.......I need bucks to finish my cobra. I think I need to get a better job. Ha Ha..If you can afford to buy these doodads...GOOD ON YOU ! :) I will, in a long time, have a nice Cobra !
This is one thing with the cobra club there are "comfortable" and "do'ers" in the ranks...all with one goal. To own and drive a COBRA. I love it.

We only have 6 characters max... recently some 2 numeral plates have been getting over $200,000... not to mention what anything with a group of 8's will fetch... there are a number of cars in Geelong with single and two numeral plates on them... 3, 11, 19, 54, 57, 59... that I can think of...

59 is on a Camry, the car is worth $15,000 max, the plate would be worth $150,000... defies logic.

People are starving and more fortunate folk are paying large dollars to drive around in Cobra's when we could all drive Hyundai Accents??? :p

Rebel1 02-08-2007 05:25 PM

Gawd, I'm starting to suffer a guilt complex. ;)

sambo 02-08-2007 06:00 PM

Plums, I hereby swear that I will use my Cobra for the sole purpose of driving down to the soup kitchen to help the needy, or otherwise for charitable means. :)

PCC 02-09-2007 04:34 AM
