Sambo....I don't know how many are available, but although the deal may improve I wasn't willing to take the risk.

What I do know is that there are a number of folks on this very forum whose all up cost of a similiar but second hand engine is greater than I've paid and this deal is all new.

The engine in crate form is about $6500.00 GST paid. I wanted all the bits and pieces to turn the engine into a running engine. ie. Alternator, ecu, loom, starter , O2 sensors, FBW accelerator, etc etc. They will even remove the code on the ecu that you dont need or prevents the engine from being started. That ended up about $10,000. Great price when a crate LS2 costs about $9000.00 without all the bits.

For some-one willing to scrounge the bits and pieces then maybe they could save more.

Other folks on here would have a better idea as to the potential of the engine but as far as I'm concerned it's essentially an LS2 bottom end with possibly better heads and intake, marginally lower compression, and a smaller cam.

Given most of us swop cams, fit better headers, change tune etc, then I figure I can make this thing, at least as good as an LS2.

cheers
