Congratulations
Congratulations to Tony and Jason on another great Shelby Fest. Three years in a row and just getting better.
The WASP is looking a little sad for wear with having two drivers and a practice day on the Friday. I let my son have a drive this time as he normally provides the tow vehicle and handles the video. He found another 1.5 seconds that his father could not find. Age must be finally catching up or a fear of crunching a majestic beast is probably my best excuse. One again tks to the Vic boys. Sorry to see and hear of the busted bits, Richard |

Thanks Tony and Jason for a great weekend. Had a ball and look forward to the next one.http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...byfest_012.jpg

Great photography Richard, you've managed to make the $35 paint almost look presentable. :o
Cheers |
I didn't take a single photo all week end. I don't reckon any of them would have turned out any good as I was shaking so much.
I wonder if they have rehab for adrenalin addiction? Cheers |
Congratulations
Congratulations to the only 2 NSW competitors that took home a Trophy Peter and Margaret well done.;) ;)
Cameron a fantastic effort and a well deserved win (for whatever state it was for):JEKYLHYDE  To Tony and Jason great job, great company and a great weekend looking forward to next year.:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: |
Some Video
A few seconds before the camera died.

Mmmmm...camera death.
Anyone contemplating a Sony HDD Camcorder for in-car footage, look at other options. The vibration just makes the camera shut down. I'll see if Sony has a solution. Otherwise a great camera....but not in the car! Richard |
Hi Guys,
My first post on your forum, I drove up to Winton in the GT40 on Saturday just for a look, but even more excited for the opportunity to join in the day and give the car its first taste of track life. Absolutely had a ball. Congratulations to the organisers for a very well run event and fellow competitors for the spirited but friendly atmospere. Been on a high ever since. Andrew Yellow GT40 |
Thanks to everyone for a great weekend.
I have met yet more great peaople that have existed until the weekend only in cyber space. Congrats on your debut Mike, your reliability is testiment to your workmanship. Thanks Richard for the hot laps and thanks Mike for the laughs through the turns (sorry couldn't resist). The freinds you make through these cars and these events are priceless. Can you tell I had a great weekend? |
Funny that. I don't remember that extra turn being there in the back section of the track on my earlier laps. :o
Thanks again for the help with my circuit breaker Gav. Cheers |
PhilM, thanks for the video, that thing of yours sounds bluddy unreal. I've played that vid so often and soooo loud the first wife bought me some earphones today. :)
RFGT40, welcome to the forum or the funny farm as we sometimes call it. |

Some Video Footage
Popped in to have a squiz at Friday Practice - got to see nice sights like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqxGboOZq5c Some of Sunday's action At the Wangaratta sale yards (cattle - I think) The surface there had the advantage of patchy top-coats of sand adding to the excitement. First off the Stuckey Tyres Mustang shows how to loop the loop at the motokhana. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60EB4LqJTCE Aussie Mike 'has issues' with the placement of the witches hats and decides to re-arrange the course http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TWq_QcXmKU ACECOB shows style but an inability to count to 1.5 while exploring the surface co-efficients http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trqyamT80nE And finally the LoBelly Cobra in the hands my brother decides that conformity with arbitary course placement is without merit and uses the alternate (and somewhat imagined course) ... Jason later points out that the obvious flaws in this approach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=av7FMWGlwTQ enjoy LoBelly LoBelly |
Great weekend
:) :) I was down from Darwin for the weekend and went and had a look at the Fest as well. It was excellent.
Met some nice people, had to walk around with a bib on to catch the drool. I took lots of photos, mainly for ideas for my own build (from the carpark), but I got some good ones from the Motorkhana day. I will upload them as soon as I work out how to resize them first. Thanks for a great weekend and for the newfound motivation. Hogster (Darwin) |
