Default Ford V Chev

Hello All,

A question, in the DAYTONA should it be a Ford small block or the Chevy donk????

The car has to be regestered!! and its a fake (like the Cobra) so i dont have any allegencies to a brand.....

Stiffy

The choice is the quad cam or the Gen. motor. It's really a matter of what you think will look better.

Or just put in a 351 windsor with an eight pack on top and go CH or Club rego..

Stiffy... before you can make this decision I think you need to consider things such as engine mass, centre of gravity, fuel efficiency, smoothness, easy starting... my bias is probably obvious by now!

Or are you just sh1t stirring?

Stiffy

I've got a Chev block you can start with, you'll only need to patch a small
hole

Fill us in please.

Will a quad cam fit in a Harrison Daytona? I know it can't be put in a Superformance Daytona, but then I want a 402W in mine. Mmmm, now how can I do that?

Sheeze, what a loaded question stiffy.

And Bernie is correct, you have little choice given you can't register with the engine the car deserves. That's if you want the freedom to drive unrestricted.

My choice, if I were to make it, and not colored by allegiance in any way....I would go chev.

After rego I'd do an Aussie Mike ..... hide the coil packs to expose the rocker covers and put on an aftermarket intake. Either a 4 barrel like Mikes or an 8 pack. It will then look the part.

The new fords will never look the part because of the wide rocker covers.

The standard ECM will drive it so if you were to have problems with the law just swop back to the factory intake.

Very easy and relatively inexpensive to do with the chev whilst having the ability to make unreal power.

Now......watch me get ripped to shreds.

Default Waiting Waiting

SAMBO,

Dont worry i didn't jump the queue, I have been waiting like all good products they take time.

The Chev does seem like the better option, lighter cheaper and so on,,,,,,,,,

Lets face it if Rebel1 can put up with the s*** then I will be able to.

Nah just kidding mate. Warwick's working his ass off, we all know it. There's just a great big empty spot in the shed and I'm keen to get started.

Stiffy

Great to hear that you are soon taking delivery.

I was at Doug's on Saturday, after taking a leisurely drive for three hours to get there. Damn it was cold going home... But hell the Cobra went well air fuel was just right in that crisp night air at -4 degrees...

He told me about the Daytona. I'll watch with interest. I'm sure it will be good if you are doing it.

Now does that sound like I want to test drive. Mmm your right....

Winter with a heater and a roof...

Looks like you will be going with dark side option.

Quote:
Q. Why does the (Harrison) Daytona only accept LS1/LS2(or equivalent) & 302/351 engine choices?
A. Due to the body shape of the Daytona Coupe, it has less height available for engine clearance than our Cobra replicas. Modern overhead cam engines are generally higher in physical size and can cause clearance problems. Some engines that do cause clearance problems are Ford 4.6 modular, Ford Boss 260, Toyota Lexus(or equivalent).

400TT

Simple...

Stiffy's problem has been solved easily for him...

Option one is Chev. Option 2 is Chev.

Certainly has, but the next question...

There are still so many choices when going Chev. Which Chev engine do you fit...LS1, LS2, L76 etc etc. So many choices.
