If it's the same one that was last seen at Indy about 10 years ago, owned by a wealthy local business man, then I reckon that's the only one that would be here.

The Bowdens tried to get the S/C together with the 427 & 2 x 289's for our club visit, but were unsuccessful. Gotta love the Bowdens for trying.

As above, the only other original Cobras that I know of up here are a 427 street Cobra & 2 x 289 Cobra's. We also have a couple of original GT40's as well.

Yep, it was blue. It's sure to be the same one.

Interesting to know it's getting restored, it certainly looked well used last time we saw it.

It headed the Indy Drivers parade and I don't think too many gave it a 2nd look because it shabby compared to all the replicas. If only they knew...

Uh oh, looks like it's the 427 street car that is getting the resto.

See the bottom photo.

http://sleepingbeauties.com.au/currentrestorations.html

That's definitely the 427 street Cobra.

Here is a photo I took of it:

There was an article in Wheels (i think)1966 67 about the road test of a red AC 427 delivered to Australia, i remember reading this many years ago, I dont know what happened to that car.

There's was an article about the Blue 427 Street Cobra in Australian Classic Car a couple of years back. I thought it was cool how relatively un touched it was and that it was still regularly driven on the street.

Cheers

I was lucky enough to see this machine as well.

It's amazing to see the stone chips on it's original paint. If a REAL Cobra can get around with stone chips then so can I!

Notice the front indicator park light combination. I wonder if that was an Aussie rego requirement?

Cheers

Blair, 2005 Brisbane Motor Show. I also have a stack of pics from there as well. A great show considering they also had a Ford GT(new GT40) as well.

Mike, yeah, it's pretty unique with those indicator/park light combo's. That's how I knew it was the exact same Cobra that was being restored.

I wonder what the name of the colour is on the Sleeping Beauties' 427 restoration? I should ask them. They are only 1/2 km away from where I live!

Interesting how far forward the side mirrors are, and for improved visibility I assume. I haven't noticed many replicas done that way.

Only 1 x 427 street Cobra that we(well I) know of.

We also have 1 x S/C 427 Cobra as well.

And quite a few 289 Cobra's.

But you never know what is hidden away somewhere, most collectors are very private and the cars rarely, if ever driven.
