Who is up for a drag!

I have finally got the last approval from ANDRA. It has been a bit of a process with getting licences, medicals and stuff.

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/P1090887.JPG

All the safety gear, catch cans etc etc all checked and we are right to go.

Weather permitting we will have a run at WSID this Wednesday afternoon.

Any others want to have a go, perhaps show off some FORD muscle:3DSMILE:

Good luck Phil....

What tyres are you running??? Are you going to give it a giggle too, or just go aspirated to sort it out???

Just remember, a good ET is all in the 60ft - show the drivetrain no mercy ;)

Philm 10-08-2007 02:29 AM

No Gas

HI Plums,
The laughing gas is about a year off, I have a goal NA that I would like to get first.

I have a pair of Mickey thompson ET streets.

The 60 foot times are the problem I really do not want break anything yet.

Phil

Plums 10-08-2007 02:35 AM

Do you have ET streets or ET street radials?? Those ET street radials are an awesome tyre and have the bonus of being able to run normal front tyres too!!! What size and cold pressures are you running???

Philm 10-08-2007 03:15 AM

Sticky Mickey

Plums
I have 275 40 17 ET street Radials

I will start at 15 psi cold and see how that goes.

Philm

Good luck and have fun.

Plums 10-08-2007 04:21 AM

Excellent choice there Phil, and a good point to start the pressures at too...

I can see some low 11 second passes if you can nail the short times!!!

Philm 10-08-2007 04:39 AM

Target

Thanks Bernie,
Definitely will have fun, warm afternoons roaring v8s, there is nothing better.

Plums, I am hoping to work towards a 10.99 NA within 12 months, the car has the power it is as you say all in the launch.

This will be the first run with the 3.9 gears and the textralia clutch plate.

should be interesting

Phil

Plums 10-08-2007 05:41 AM

I didn't know you'd gone down to 3.9's..... that could be the difference between low 11's and high 10's!!!

If you find it doesn't hook up **) , I'd drop a few psi straight away. I run mine at 10.5 psi cold....

I really hope you can nail that 10 second pass!

acecob 10-08-2007 05:44 AM

yeh !

Might see you there Phil,
I'll try to get Lucky out there with the big GT, he'll race you

Beejay 10-08-2007 07:43 PM

I will try to make it Phil.

hi phil,
11.60 @ 119 mph was my best result (without braking diff & drive shaft) ran on a 235/50/15 street ET at 18 pounds cold, 60 foot was 1.54 sec. I had a good run at 4000rpm launches it was the 5400rpm launch that broke everything . have a good time ,catch me if u can
regards
Lindsay

Aussie Mike 10-09-2007 03:58 AM

Hi Lindsay, Welcome to the forum. Good to see you finally found us.

I'm keen to do a couple of Friday night street meets at Calder over the summer if you're up for it.

Do they allow open pipes on a Friday night?

Cheers

Philm 10-09-2007 04:22 AM

Softy

HI Lindsay,
The best I have done so far is as below, this is with the 3.45 diff.

Air Temp 22c
Rel Humidity 77
Abs Barrometer 29.98
Track Temp 42c

r/t .586
60' 1.934
330' 5.140
660' 7.742
MPH 95.92
1000' 9.911
ET 11.761
MPH 118.48
Kph 190.68

I will try and launch hard tomorrow see if I can get the 60 foot time a bit more respectable.

If I have done my sums right with the 3.9s I should cross the line in 4th at about 6900---7200RPM.

Should be interesting

Well not a good night, while I was quicker that I have ever been I was hoping to go a bit quicker.

Yes it is all the driver, missed shifts, late shifts and soft launches.

This is the best I did, last run.

Air Temp 18c
Rel Humidity 84
Abs Barrometer 29.92
Track Temp ?

r/t .597
60' 1.756
330' 4.989
660' 7.578
MPH 96.94
1000' 9.789
ET 11.614
MPH 124.34
Kph 200.11

Better driving next time.

Phil
