Default Radiator Supplier in SE Melb

My radiator is not coping with the extra cubes so I need to find a supplier, preferably in SE Melb, to help me out

Any experiences from other RMC owners would be appreciated
(like did you persist with the forward/upward slope)

LoBelly, Warwick Harrison put me onto the guy he uses down here in Melbourne. Speak to Rod at Race Radiators in FTG. 9793 2798. Friendly bloke, that's always a good start. He quoted me about $700 for an aluminium unit with 55mm core.

Michael

Thompson radiators in Moorabbin strike a memory for me, might not be ali savvy though?!

Is the RMC different there at the front of the chassis to the GForce? My radiator leans back carried at and across the bottom of the radiator by a steel support that is itself attached to fabricated frames mounted off the chassis.

Perhaps you could adopt a GForce fitment? If your up this way call me and drop in.

Cheers

Default Race radiators

Lobelly,

I have just put in a Race Radiator (Aluminium)...Awesome. They are in Dandenong. Car runs much cooler. Price is very reasonable.

Just take your Radiator down and they will copy it. If you do go there make sure you take your fan down as well and they will make brackets for this also. They're in the phone book.

Cheers

TC

When have you noticed the overheating problems?

I'm currently fitting an aluminium radiator to my RMC. I have just used an AFCO and got a few mods done to it. Cheapest solution for me and the AFCO radiators are great quality. Sorry can't tell you yet how much difference temperature wise it has made. I have stuck with it leaning forward as it was easier.

Aluminium radiators are much more efficient to start with, so you will gain cooling efficiency by changing.

Can you gain any by getting you aluminium radiator made larger than the old copper, i.e. was your copper radiator sized well for the space.

What type & brand of thermo fan are you running?

Had you sealed around the edges of the radiator i.e. the gap between radiator & body.

Do you run a rubber seal on your bonnet opening?

The GT40's also suffer badly from overheating problems. Some of the guys are running different water additives resulting in increased cooling efficiency. I'll see if I can find out what they are.

I don't know about Cobra radiators, but many moons ago I bought a Race Radiators alluminium unit for the Torana. The guys there were great to deal with, (all done over the phone) the radiator arrived super quick (shipped up to Darwin), and the engine never ran hot again.
I would definitely buy from them again...
