Default Sumitomo's

Hey All,

I need a replacement Sumitomo 315 x 35 x 17 ASAP.
Who in Melb sells them at a good price, the best so far is $505.00 fitted.

I know SHOWWHEELS have some coming in in late December but I cannot wait that long.....

Stiffy,

I have HTR Z 315/35/17 Sumitomo's (rear) and HTRZ II 255/45/17 (front) fitted to knock-off Vintage rims ready to put onto my build when its finally finished.

I purchased them on 7/8/07 over the Internet from 'The Tire Rack' in Indiana USA. After sending them the wire transfer, it only took 6 days before they were on my door step. The best part was the price: The 315's were $US96 each and the 235's were $US92 each. On top of that, I paid $US191.84 to freight the four tyres from USA to Sydney with Fed Economy.

The four tyres and freight came to $A710.05 (THATS AUSSIE DOLLARS)

Your contact at Tire Rack is Fred Helmuth. I found him extremely easy to deal with.

His email address is:-

fred@tirerack.com

Good luck,

Baz.

Baz, that is outstanding value - another vote for Tire Rack. And I like the Turquoise Cobra in your gallery - do you have any more photos or links to Cobras done in that colour?

You might find a slightly better price around town, but going on Baz's prices you could probably get THREE delivered from the States inside a week for that price.

And that would leave you with 2 spare ones for those late night traction tests.

Sorry Sambo, but that's the only one I've seen. Found it on the US Club Cobra site. Around May next year you'll see another one. I'm having my car painted Metallic Aqua Turquoise with silver/grey striped front to rear, and professionally trimmed in a soft light tan leather with darker carpets and black soft top. Don't think I will have much change for duco/trim left out of 30K.

Sounds fantastic Baz. I've allowed 10k for paint and 5k for interior, less the soft top. Must be all that leather pushing your price up?

Actually I've got a framed poster that my partner bought for my last b'day. It's a hand painted turquoise Cobra done in a horror movie theme. Not a traditional colour but it looks great.

There was an add in the latest Cruzin magazine for a local tyre dealer that had a bunch of Sumitomo 315/35/17s Asking about $300 each from memory. I'll have a look at the news agent and find out who it was that had them.

Cheers

The add in Cruzin was for Show wheels.

I can probably help you. I've got 2 brand new Sumitomos sitting in my shed. They've been on the car for about 100KM whilst I got engineered and rego etc. They are like new I didn't do any burn outs or anything. You can take one or both and replace them with a couple from show wheels or tirerack when they come in.

I've got the rear end out of my car making some changes so won't be driving it for a while. You may as well enjoy the cobra driving weather while it's here.

Give me a call.

Cheers

Default Aussie Mike

Thanks to Aussie Mike for the loan of a tyre..

As his car is in 100,000 bits after rego he was kind enough to give me one of his rears (tyre that is) and I will replace it with a new one....

Now I can get back on the road...........
