It's gives one a good feeling when you can help out young folks. Nice job, Bernie.

Hope to finally meet you in person at LCS this year.

Seagull81 05-02-2008 06:32 PM

Great Job, Bernie

Super of you to help those kids out! It will pay back in the future for them for sure. Keep up the great work!

Hi Bernie,

Well done and you look terrific.
I read your post and watched the U tube film at 7pm yesterday, then within an hour it was on the TV here in Perth,
I must say you present a 'Powerful image'.

Cheers,

Harry.

Buddy23 05-02-2008 07:31 PM

Great work Bernie.
It seems less people are willing to do community service these days (unless enforced by a court of law).
I'm sure it is an incredibly rewarding exercise for you and the kids.

BMK 05-03-2008 07:02 AM

Thanks guys,

Yes, I was a bit reluctant to "Post" the link at first, as I thought people would be sick of seeing it on the TV.

The add has gone national and into NZ. I think it was even launched into the USA in Orlando, Florida last month at a convention there.

The young girl who featrures in the add is one of 215 who have been through the program.

I must say to see her and the last group graduate was just as good of a feeling as the first group 4 years ago.

The school is a big regional school with 1460 students and it is great to see them seize the opportunity to be part of the business program.

Most of the program they learn and work through are life business skills

Mmmm no make up and they wouldn't touch up the grey hair with black either..

vettestr 05-03-2008 07:31 AM

Bernie,
215+ new souls with the drive and education to get it right ... good on ya Bernie!

And how many of the 215+ will be future cobra drivers? :D

Jeff,

And the real pleasure in it all is that I would have no problem sending any one of them over to work with you in your business.

Each and everyone of them has really been committed to the program.

The teaching staff are hard - but fair - on them at examination time. I sit on on most of the final presentations and exams and the quality of teaching/learning is first class.

I'm sure there are one or two that will be driving what ever they want.. Cobra owners who knows..:3DSMILE:

Pete,

Thanks as the program has been running for over 4 years I'm seeing the real results with some starting in business at Uni.

Two working in their parents business. Mmm perhaps they may not have considered business as a career prior to the course/program. So yes it paying off and forward.

Chloe the young girl is currently on a scholarship with Rotary in Germany

Any wonder we moved from that area? With role models like that you can understand why the town is under seige by 10 yr old thugs.
The only good thing to come out of Dubbo is the mitchell highway.

BMK 05-09-2008 05:59 PM

Yes, guess we are doing a little to improve both opportunities for young people/students and to give them an insight into the real business world.

The young lady in this video/add is a real credit to 17 year olds. I predict a very bright future for her and the others who have participated in the program.

I hope that we have some great business ambassadors coming out of our city.
