Aussie Cobra in UAE
Hi all,
It looks like I'm going to get posted to the United Arab Emirates for a year.
I know this is a real long-shot, but has anyone ever investigated taking their Cobra (or any international car for that matter) into the UAE then bringing it back home? More trouble than it's worth I'm guessing.....
The thought of cruising the highways between Abu Dhabi and Dubai does sounds tempting though.
And thanks in advance for any offers of minding my Harrison here in Aus for the year I'm away... I don't think so!
Cheers

Watch out for Camels, I've been told they do an unbelievable amount of damage to a car.

If you have ever driven on their roads I think you'll be undergunned!! Something a little larger and armour plated would be more appropriate. It's a circus!!

My geography is a bit poor, and I have no idea of the various import legislative pitfalls, but wouldn't that make the importation of a Superformance to the UAE an easier first step, to bringing a cobra home to OZ?

I love the way you're all thinking guys and I love each one of these suggestions (well, all except Stiffy's male prostitution suggestion)
The Clubcobra forum sure has lots of lateral thinkers

I think you're right Spookypt about being outgunned.
One of the guys just came back from there last week and apparently met a local who owned a V14-engined behemoth with a 440kph top-speed . I must admit to having no idea what make/model would fit that description!!
Apparently the local had made a big chunk of his money from selling camel's milk......

Just out of interest, what is your typical turnaround time (from order to delivery) on a Kirkham or Superperformance??
