I've finally seen her!!!!
4 Attachment(s)
My Superformance Cobra has finally arrived...I met Colin and Shelly from CTC early Monday morning in Perth at the transport company depot and we trailered it to York (WA) together to deliver her to the workshop who's installing my engine & transmission...
What a day....Over 25 years of anticipation and desire...:3DSMILE::3DSMILE: My father and a couple of my best mates shared the day with me and I was on a high all day! I'll remember Monday for a long, long time! I suspect the day I get to start her up and actually drive her might be the only day that will surpass yesterday though! Here's a couple of photo's. Regards.....Paul |
Beautiful car Paul - congrats! :) Are they side pipe cutouts - not sure if any of the current Superformances in OZ have sidepipes?
|
Nice!! Congratulations Paul!!
Just curious how the the SPF numbering works. Is there a limited number of SPF cars in Australia. |
Congrats Paul, I expect you feel like a kid at xmas. :D
Yeah, Colin & Shelly are great people and also great supporters of our club. Tenrocca, Garrett's SPF also has side pipes. Doug, there are only a handful of SPF Cobra's here in Aus, but I expect CTC are working hard to correct that situation. |

Ah yeah :)...forgot about that one...My ears are still ringing :p |
Tenrocca.....Yes, I do have the sidepipe cutouts and I've gone for silver ceramic coated sidepipes to put on as part of the engine/transmission install. I know that in a lot of Australian states, registering with live sidepipes is not possible, but in WA, you can (still) register a Cobra with live sidepipes.
Doug.....No, I am not aware of any limit to the number of SPFs that can come into Australia...I think Colin and Shelly at CTC would love to sell more!!! There is a different numbering sequence to the Australian Compliant RHD cars and mine is the 9th one I beleive Craig....You're right on both counts....I did feel like a kid at Christmas and Colin & Shelly are great people and genuine enthuisasts....They have been terrific to deal with. Regards.....Paul |
OMG........they put the steering wheel on the wrong side..........
You are going to truely love that car. They do a fine job with them. Congrats.......... |

Congratulations Paul, A black Superformance is certainly a car that will stand out in the crowd.
|
It's about time! I see you have already removed the headrests.
|
Thanks Boxhead...As I think I mentioned on this forum previously, choosing paint colour was a long, long process...I love the SPF Black colour!
G'Day Mitch...yes, it's been a long time coming hey? But I must say, that even though it's been a long time coming...I've loved every minute of it....All those hours crawling over your cars in Houston and as you know, your advice was very valuable in my deliberations as to how I'd set up my SPF!...a big thankyou to you!...I'll call you in the next day or so to see if you're still thinking you'd be able to come down under in July? I'm also still looking into A/C kits that might be able to be integrated into the RHD SPF...Anyone on this forum know of a A/C kit that could make the process simple? Regards.....Paul |
It really looks good with the wheel on the "right" right side:D
|
Paul,
Fantastic, bet your well pleased with the fit and finish; like all SPF's their a class act. What E brake have you got and when will it be on the road? |
Paul - Great to hear you can run sidepipes where you live. For those who can't run sidepipes, this SPF that's for sale on CC looks awesome with no sidepipes or roll bar.

Congratulations, youve ordered a great looking car. Are the wheels 17"?
Regards. |
Mate what a fantastic looking car bet you have that Cobra grin that seems to be attached to all Cobra owners
you know its an addiction that will never leave you just like that grin congrats trev |
Ed & Chanmadd....Yes, it's just as well the steering wheel is on the "right" side...It cost me a couple of bucks more than what it would have cost had I been able to buy a lefty in the US!
NHVANA....Not really sure on the timing to get it on the road......The engineer/installer/tuner that I have asked to put the engine/transmission in is a perfectionist in not only the engineering, but also the finished look, so I think it will be a good few weeks yet! Then I have the whole registration process, and I have no idea what that will take, but I'm loving the journey and I'm not going to rush anything! Mando....Yes, they're 17's on there. Trev....I have'nt wiped the grin off my face all week! Regards......Paul |
Congrats Paul. The car looks fantastic. You mention that you have an LS7 to drop into it. Is the LS7 the 7 litre 427ci GM engine?
There is a photo of a blue cobra in this thread with no roll bars. I reckon that it looks fantastic, but can anyone advise me if it could be used in competition on the track at the Nats., or is it merely a street cruiser? Baz |
Paul,
great to hear. I look forward to the baby pictures as the birth progresses. See you soon for the Nats trip Cameron Proud owner of a 3 year old... :3DSMILE: |
Congrats! That is a day you will remember forever. I waited 25 years too and talked about it for well about 25 years. Drove my friends and wife nuts!
My wife cried when the car rolled off the truck. It is a great moment that few truly understand......And it only gets better. Enjoy every minute of it. Chris 2626 |
