Pics of 302 in situ?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the long thread that I, somewhat reluctantly, started: "Engine Confusion". I thought that the responses were extremely useful and practical with very little emotion or bias-although these are inevitable whenever one makes a choice. It has helped me a lot in making my decision.

As a (short) follow up I was wondering if there are any nice pics of 302s in situ so I can see some of the variations of air cleaners, wiring and so on?

Merv, my engine bay, definitely old school look.

You could do something very similiar with an injected engine and mass-flo efi.

Much the same as Craigs but with different air cleaner and lpg setup.

Brett, I saw what he wrote - just cant believe it! haha.

Phil - they are now tucked safely away :) Might even get some of dem fang dangled "Kobra" valve covers now.

Amazing what those pros can do in photoshop now hey? Cant believe that is a stock 302 - straight off the boat from the US out of a 94 mustang Phil? :D

Brilliant photos! Love the cold air intake Phil but I am beginning to feel inadequate! What is the paint colour Phil? Has a pearl quality.

Merv, there are heaps of shots of stock 302's in the FF forum:

I thought I'd chuck in my "old school" 302.....well 347, but still a 302 on the outside.

Very nice! Lots of variety on: http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40750

Some with carbs and some with injectors. The "lump" on top of the injected ones in many pics is, I assume, part of the standard Mustang throttle body set up? Can that be replaced by a more conventional ("old school") air filter and still pass muster for engineering and rego?

Merv

Sorry Merv you can't, for rego you've got to run the engine in it's original setup and configuration.

Merv and Sharon 06-12-2008 05:53 AM

Thanks Craig. I suspected that. Hence the difference between assembling and producing a Cobra. Next steps I suppose. There are so many great examples on the FF sites.

Chev Ford...it doesnt matter - both pretty ugly stock...

Merv and Sharon 06-12-2008 03:49 PM

No comment there! I did notice that one can still get pretty nice re-built injected 302s from the 'States. For example, http://www.fordcobraengines.com/302bossefi.htm . But I guess that these would not pass our registration and emission requirements as they have been modified in some way?
