File size in Gallery

Is there anyway to change the file size limit in the photo gallery on this Forum? Most of mine reflecting my build are more than 300kb and thus are rejected. I guess I could try to reduce them further but then the quality would be a problem. Any ideas many of you seem to post heaps of good quality photos?

300k is really too big...you can get nice web-displayed pics at 80-100k, even 1024x768. Gallery images should be 800x600 or 1024x768

Reducing the file size does not have to sacrifice viewed quality.

If you are using XP... try the Image Resizer tool explained here:

just open the file in paint program in xp

then goto image then goto stretch/skew

it willhave dimensions at 100%

change both length and width to 50 or 40 %

i mainly use 40% on digital cam pics

this makes them still good quality for every day use

unless u want to see the grain on the block u dont need best quality

I have new Mac and it has different software but brilliant media capacity - will look for some way to reduce the size.

Many thanks,

Merv

Merv try this: Go into iPhoto select your photo by double clicking then on the menu bar (top of screen) select file/export then select web page and enter what size you want, This will not change your original photo.
Let me know how you get on.

Cheers Greg

Thanks Greg. I tried Photo Shop and then saved them as 800x600 and in that weak form they upload fine!

Many thanks,

Merv
